@Thingy You replied when I was having dinner. I'm not sure what your in-game name is, but I've been to all the towns with opened gates and did not find your fossil.

Hmmmm, someone took the fossils from Re-Tail, but I don't seem to have been given any money for it?

I believe it takes a day or so before the owner of Re-Tail tells you that the money for your sales has been put into your account.

There will be a time delay between selling and you being informed. Don't worry!

    @TheMayorOfJugs

I've whacked them with the net on the edge of the cliff. They rise/drop depending which direction they've come from.

Still no sign of Redd in my town. I really need to buy a painting to get my museum cafe open.

If anyone has a spare painting (unlikely I know), please let me know so I can buy it off you.

Yeah, I haven't seen Redd either yet, but I think I might have missed him. I saw there was a tent during the week but I thought it was the bug guy. Oh well, hopefully this week.

Thanks to all the visitors, I love seeing all the messages when I get back. And especially Tom (Asgard) for paying off my bench project. It looks lovely! I have a couple of nice gifts in mind so next time your town is open I shall come reciprocating!

Absolutely loving this game. I keep meaning to have 10 mins here and there but it quickly turns into 1-2 hour sessions.

Quick unrelated question. Has anyone played a DS game called Inazuma Eleven? Just clocked it in my local blockbuster for 6 and wondered if its any good.
Also what's considered the best harvest moon game for the DS? I didn't realise there were so many.

Loving this so far only a couple hours in at moment very addictive.

Shook a tree out fell a wasps nest then stung me. My eye all swollen and shut but cant seem to see any Dr? or does it cure itself? Are the nests worth anything ? I picked it up in case.

    You're welcome ;)

Your town was the first one where I saw a big rainbow in the background, it must've been raining and then sunshine afterwards!

If you save and quit your game and then restart, the swollen eye will have gone. The bees are worth quite a bit of money if you can catch them, I think it's 2000-2500 bells.

Inazuma is a football based rpg. It's a bit like pokemon in some respects. Don't buy it if you don't like grinding (or anime). I have it and have yet to complete it but I've enjoyed what I've played.

For HM, go for A Tale of Two Towns or possibly Sunshine Islands (although be warned it has an annoying friendship system where friendships decay if you don't talk to people).

@Willhelm331 Sorry, someone took it. I can't remember who. It's really confusing with not knowing who is who in game and on here. My town is Morticus, by the way.

Thanks for the Info mate. I actually bought a tale of two towns the other day for a tenner but yet to start it properly. Will look more into inazuma. I love football and it seems like a quirky game and I've read a few reviews so am aware of the annoyances some people have etc. Will probably grab it anyway considering its dirt cheap.

I bought this the other day and I'm currently trying to get that 100% approval rating (who'd be a politician...) so I can get my development permit. I'm not liking the lack of head shot action tbh, although I nailed a dragonfly with my net this morning. That was pretty sweet.

So, now that the game has been out for a little while what are your thoughts about it? Anyone found anything that they particularly enjoy? I myself like all the little background touches like the owl on the noticeboard at night time and the way you can splish splash through the waves.

Collecting bugs, fish and fossils is as addictive as ever, and it's lovely when something new happens or a new villager moves in. However, I'm not hammering any one activity or trying to maximise income. It's all too easy to turn the village into a mono fruit plantation where native fruit has gone extinct and you do nothing but 'work' and live only for that next downpayment.

I have only paid off the first house expansion and am in no hurry to expand my house further. I can see plenty of great stuff ahead and hope to get really creative with furniture once more is available.

Also quite enjoying the meta game stuff, writing poems to animals and listening to the music, taking photos and working to beautify the village.

I finally made pink roses somehow. And a purple one! They have been arranged around my fountain / bench combo with all the other flowers.

There's a lot specific to New Leaf that I quite like.

I love that flowers show the water trickle down them to show you've definitely watered them, then sparkle for the rest of the day so you can be sure they're done for the day. I like that you can do mass fossil checks and donations. I like stacking fruit so it takes up less space. I like being able to customised furniture, outside of my house and of course the town itself. I like that Main Street is nice and easy to access, unlike the City on Wii which put me off with it's loading/travel times.

As someone (Raiko I think) said earlier, I also like that the villagers feel a bit more alive, with them going shopping, visiting the Museum and generally doing all the stuff you'd expect. Although I'm not sure it's a new feature, I liked that I was able to convince one of my favourite villagers to stay when he said he was leaving next week :)

The thing I like most is it just feels gentler. I'm not sure if it's just in the way I'm choosing to play it, but with previous versions I felt like I had to work for cash. Much like zoolophage, I'm not specifically going for cash. I do give myself missions which I work towards, but there's no rush. It's all nice and chilled out.

Does anyone know why some of my saplings are wilting in my orchard where all the trees are equally spaced with minimum growing distance? It's just one or a couple in the middle of the forest.
