Thanks for the tip. Got the magazine today. It's actually not as bad as I thought it was going to be, although some reviews seem quite generous. The cards I got are:|
Three sacred treasures
End all arm
Kid Icarus: Uprising • Page 8
Pageof 10 First / Last
I think I have most of those idols already but still very tempted to get the cards loL
three sacred treasures
So looks like they are all different. I also have 4 packets coming from club nintendo
Also flicking through the mag, the quality seems to have gone up since last time I brought it
I really like the magazine. It's clearly written by genuine Nintendo fans, so there is some bias, though nowhere near as bad as you'd think - they're just generally quite lenient, much as I am. Usually has some good features too
I got that Three Sacred Treasures so if there is a card exclusive to the magazine, that must be it. I also got Porcuspine, Underworld Gatekeeper, Girin, Spike Ball and Rare Treasurefish.
Completed the story now and thought it was utterly brilliant.
The story was epic, threw in some real surprises and is genuinely very funny. The different characters had plenty of personality, Pit reminded me a lot of Guybrush Threepwood, Pyron and Hades were both hilarious as well
Best game on the 3DS imho. 10/10

Nice to see the promo pack of cards is quite random. I also received the Three Sacred Treasures card along with Reaper, Guardian Orbitars, Impact Amplifier, Orb Staff and Mik.
Need to get back to the campaign. Only up to Chapter 7 I believe.
It defo looks like the three sacred treasures are the exclusive card.
@ignatius, it gets better as it goes on.
The UK twitter is still getting updated, full of usefull info like you can do a spin in air battles that reflects fire and the Earthmaul clubs backwards charged shot reflects of walls
It also contains a few spoilers

Does anyone agree that this game is crying out for an eShop demo? I think a fair few people would take the plunge if they simply had access to the first Chapter which is essentially a training level what with Palutena explaining the controls etc.
This game any good then? Will a 30 something year old enjoy it?

I am 39 and I loved every second of it. It takes a little getting used to the controls (for me anyway) but other than it is a joy to play. Get it now!
Cheers, I'll add to my rent list first! It's a schmup right?
Each level starts of Schmup then moves on to third person bits that have quite an old school feel about them.
I found it to be alot of fun, the flying sections are really intense on higher difficulties and it's nice to have the third person sections if only because you can stop to take a breather before carrying on

It's a great game Razz, full of charm and depth.
Cool, is the circle pad pro required or is it perfectly playable without one?
If you are right handed its useless, if you are left handed its playable without it but you have to use the abxy buttons for movement
The cpp only really comes into effect if your a leftie as it reverses the control scheme.
I am a leftie and I can tell you it is just as easy to use the buttons
Nintendo have announced they're bringing the cards to shops, as well as a nice collectors album thanks to a new partnership with Panini. So much for ever having spare change in my wallet! I really can't help it, I just love collecting cards.
I have dived back into this to do some achievements, unlock more stuff and to play the multiplayer after a few days off. Its so good.
I was playing LvsD last night and was in a closely fought one on one which I was on the brink of losing to a guy with a club. I saw a battered prawn over his shoulder, dived past him, picked it up and fired it instantly on the turn. Luckily I hit and seeing the guy scurry off before I went in to finish him off made it one of the most satisfying multiplayer kills I have ever had. Great stuff
Finally caved in and ordered this from Amazon this morning.

You won't regret it. Fantastic game, seems like so much has been put into it and is great fun going back and trying early levels on higher intensity. Best thing on 3DS imo.

Best game on the 3DS ruined by lack of proper CPP support, well if your left handed anyway.. I hope they create a patch for it, if they can patch Mario Kart 7, why not this game!?
Stumbled upon some gorgeous concept art here
There are lots of character and enemy spoilers on the link, best pics are right at the bottom

Not shooting in the air gets a speed boost? Something so simple, yet I had no idea. Almost everything there is stuff I had no idea about! So much more depth than I'd thought, and I thought it was pretty deep to start with. Even basics like what Fireworks are actually for.
Well worth watching, should anyone else be hesitant. No story spoilers, should that matter to anyone.
