A bit of faith restored in parliaments there. Good work, Europe.

The EU does nothing for us. It's useless. We should leave the EU. They just take our money and we get nothing back.

IN YOUR FUCKING CUNTING FACE CUNTS!

I may be pleased with this result.

Great news. It's a crushing defeat at that, which means ACTA is globally dead. Until the next piece of shit comes along anyway.

A picture from the EU Parliament as the vote went through.

    Heartwarming.

Wait, what? ACTA has nothing to do with the EU parliament, they're the ones that just killed it.

Why the fuck did I unignore you?

    HI DIRTBOX.

    I was being sarcastic.

This is monumental victory for the parliament. They've shown the way forward for democracy in the EU. It's the in built mechanism to relieve the democratic deficit in between the EU and it's citizens.

The people vote directly for MEP's. I know they also vote for their heads of state but that is far more "dilited" than voting for their MEP as their voice is 1 of multiple millions in the national elections where as it's far more important at the regional (MEP) level.

I know it's hard to fathom but I'm not a complete retard.

I also realise now that if you didn't know my stance on the EU in the first place my original post probably did seem like I was slating the EU.

I should've made the spoiler bit clearly as in "GO EU PARLIAMENT WOOO"

In fact I'm a little gutted that this thread isn't getting more attention. It's far more important than some shitty ECJ ruling on resale crap :)

Good to see money not running interests for once. Hope that continues in the EU, nice to see things like this work. Well done for listening and having good sense.

Because it was blindingly obvious months ago that ACTA had no legs, wasn't it? This news is all to the good, +1 etc. But really, meh. I'm sure there will be a replacement bill along soon enough.
