    Yo, morning, sup, howdy,

There's a question about a piece of feedback from the recent reader survey that I'd like to ask:

When you're looking at a list of threads, should clicking the thread title go to the first or last page of replies?

I think the majority of the time people want to go to the last page of threads, so making the thread title go there makes sense to me. Is there anyone who disagrees?

Last page that you looked at from that user account would be even better.

    Last page please.

Particularly on long-established threads, you don't want to read several hundred pages of chat, you want to get into the current discussion.

First page seems more logical to me, I'd prefer a "last page" button that is a bit more noticeable and preferably always in the same spot.

Last page. Clicking 'Next' should take you to the top of the next page and 'Previous' should take you to the bottom of the previous.

While you are doing things like this can you PLZ make the links in the recent activity go to the page your post is on rather than the first page?

This. Last page would lead to more people just not bothering to read any of the previous pages and re-posting the same stuff when it comes into their head. Even more than happens already.

What's wrong with just 1 page per thread?

I don't see what's wrong with it now. Or do people struggle with the concept of the "last" link?

It's not consistent. A thread with just one page, click the thread to go to the last page. A thread with 2 or 3 pages, click the 3 to go to the last page. A thread with more than 3 pages, click the Last to go to the last page.

    Yeah?

Title should take you to First page, but there should be somewhere that you can click that takes you to the last point you where in the thread.
  • Deleted user 16 January 2012 10:22:05
If there's no Last link you click the highest number which can go as high as 3. Is this really where we are now?
