@Armoured_Bear You must be in Berne. I wish Cablecom would hurry up and roll it out into Geneva. I'm stuck on their 150MBPS offering. Our local electric supplier (SIG) is offering 100mb for quite cheap over fibre optic, and they're promising 1GBPS later on.

It's a touch life. There are many things that I miss about Blighty, but rubbish and metered internet service offerings are not one of them.

Yep, I'm in Berne but it's CHF199 a month so I won't be getting it, I'll stick with 150MBps until the price comes down, hopefully won't be long.
I guess they'll roll out in Geneva later this year, they always do Berne first then the other main cities.

CHF87 a month for full telly package and 150MBps internet seems pretty good to me.
The caps and throttling so common in the UK would annoy the shit out of me.

90CHF (60ish) for 150MBPS internet and unlimited local and international calls.

I don't have a TV package yet as the local provider was crap, and I generally stream or download everything anyway.

Homeplugs are one of the most useful investments I've ever made - got a Sky Hub in the lounge, a wireless booster next door in the kitchen and I still don't get a signal upstairs!

Bought some Devolo(?) homeplugs from PC World (should have been 50 something, but were scanning at 24.99), plugged one into the booster and the other in the bedroom and can now finally stream stuff on the BD player upstairs!

My old laptop would show anywhere between 20-50 and still seem slower to me than my old 16mb Sky connection. Now with an AC wireless router and new laptop with an AC card it's pretty fast again.

After starting the gig service a few years ago for insane prices, about$350 a month, it's now $69. Which is only twelve bucks more than I'm paying for the lowest grade available from my provider, which is 100.

Gonna have to upgrade to at least try it out. Or, more to the point, see how much headroom my router has.

Having had 100mb for a while now I really can't see the point of going much higher... and I'm a fairly extreme user.

Yea at this stage it would be nice to get some upload love. I'm being bumped to 200mbps next month but my up is still a paltry 10mbps.

Heh, I've just this week bitten the bullet and gone for the 250mbps Horizon package. It's all up and running, and I still get to use my own router. It's insanely quick, and the upload is increased to 15mbps.

    Happy days.

    You in NL?

The hoops I had to jump through to get the shitty Thopson Modem/Router they give you in ROI to go into bridge mode was ridiculous.

    Also is Horizon still shit?

It's shit here with alarmingly few firmware updates given the shit performance.

To answer your question based on my experience of it in Ireland; SHIT.

Frequent crashes and the Upnp stuff is dodgy at best (not important for me as I have a Smart TV). The interface is obtrusive and slow as well.

Yeah, I've heard bad reports here in Switzerland although they issued new remotes and improved it recently. I avoided it so far but I'm a bit fed up with the terrible EPG and limited recording using my TV.

We started with the "new remotes" here as far as I know. They have a fulll qwerty keyboard on the back.

Largely pointless but useful for if you want to edit network settings. Speaking of which my internet had to be de consolidated from the box as I use all the ethernet ports and my NAS appeared to be causing audio issues on live TV - horrific stuttering so be aware if you are planning on connecting things directly.

Overall the hardware should perform way better than it does but it seems to be really poorly optimised firmware and a badly designed UI.

To anyone who complains!! 50$ a month here!

Our "upgrade" (Which I don't want to name the price of) should go into effect this Monday, unless this IS the upgrade, then fuck my life.

I'm on 0.35Mbps with BT who are making it difficult for me to get out of my contract without more "technical investigation."

Twats, they know they can't provide a service in my area and shouldn't have sold it to me.
