I'm sure that there's already a thread for this type of thing - but the old and new search engines have failed me.

I feel like I've got to the point where there are no funny shows left to watch - it's making me feel very sad.

What 'comedic' shows are you chaps watching at the mo? Old or new, popular or cult - I need some guidance.

I've recently polished off (and loved) 'Bored to Death', 'Community', 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia', 'Bob's Burgers', 'New Girl' (yes, I was getting desperate at this point) and '15 Storeys High'.

    My "essential collection":

-Alan Partridge (inc. Mid Morning Matters)
    -Peep Show
    -Eastbound and Down
    -Curb Your Enthusiasm

    On repeat. Forever.

Better of Ted and Hung (although its verging on Drama at times).

Has anyone tried out Happy Endings? Halfway through the pilot, and it's very likeable.
  • Deleted user 9 January 2012 18:35:51
Happy Endings is okay, but it's not particularly memorable.

Parks and Recreation is good. The Middle and Modern Family are reasonably entertaining too.

I've just re-started The Office (US) from season one. Interesting to see how it evolved.

The show that probably gave me the most please rewatching (Partridge aside of course) was Phoenix Nights.

15 Storeys High is fantastic, a criminally under appreciated gem lost among the Gavin and Staceys etc.

Another vote for Eastbound and Down.

Fresh Meat was actually really good once it got going. And Limmy's Show is excellent imo. It may or may not be on iPlayer.

Louis CK, not a show but very funny.

I found Phoneshop hilarious. It can take a while for you to come up on it though.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Do you like animation? Archer, Venture Bros and Frisky Dingo are great.

Tim and Eric Awesome Show is, well, awesome, but not for everyone. It's...quirky.

Was just about to suggest this. Started watching it last week after seeing it on AV Club's best shows of 2011. I've seen half of the first season and seems good so far.

Louie is probably the best thing on TV right now, more people need to see it. More of a "Dramedy" in places, though.

I'm currently watching a lot of Frasier at the moment. Great show.

Others I haven't seen menitoned: Arrested Development, Party Down, Peep Show (obviously), Saxondale, Todd Margaret.

    I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue
    Mark Steel's About Town
    So Wrong It's Right
    Old Harrys Game
    Elvenquest

Depending on what humour you like Mrs Brown's Boys is worth a look.

Good call caligari, I was considering making a similar thread.

Glad someone mentioned this, it needs more attention, although it's not easy to get hold of over here. Death Valley is good one that hasn't been mentioned.

    Portable view - Never forget.

    Trailer Park Boys

No idea if this 'best of' video really is the best of it for the record, just the first thing I found on YT.

Do you also enjoy Mrs Brown's Boys?

We're destroying Parks and Rec before it runs out of steam(like 30 Rock).

    Peep Show
Monkey Dust (one of the most underrated sketch shows of all time and a crime that you can only get the 1st series on DVD)
Alan Partridge Saga (I think Alan would like this term)
    The Day Today
    Brass Eye
    Arrested Development
Phoneshop (took me awhile to get used to the humour)
    Father Ted
    Bottom
    The New Statesman
    The Young Ones
    The Thick of It
    Rising Damp

Best Monkey dust sketch series Daisy Harris investigation.
