Oh, and if you liked Thief back in the day, get Dishonored. It's a recent game, so probably won't be very cheap. I'm playing it right now and the Thief is very strong in this one.

    Excellent.
Right - I reckon that'll keep me busy until the PS4 / XBox43854 come out.

Treat yourself and import the Journey Collector's Edition from Canada (VG+ will makes sure the customs declaration is filled in 'right'), that way you also get Flower alongside some less desirable stuff and those two brilliant games on a disc, the way it should be.

Buying titles as downloads on closed systems just doesn't work in the long term.

Don't forget the Yakuza games, you'll have a hard time finding games like that elsewhere these days. They're pretty unique against the backdrop of this generation's titles.

Valkyria Chronicles is of course essential.

I really liked Heavy Rain, maybe there's a demo version or something, the game seems to inspire overzealous hatred in some.

The Atelier games are worth a look if you like menus and JRPG elements.

Not forgetting the ICO and Shadow of the Colossus collection, ICO is showing it's age in some respects but it's still a magical game. Shadow of the Colossus really gets a new lease of life in this release, the improved frame rate does wonders, this time I spent ages just wandering around, the World was a lot larger than I'd thought when I first played the game on the PS2. I think the sluggish frame rate dissuaded me from exploring more than I had to.

    Quick question.

Looking at Heavy Rain, it's available, but if I want it new then it's the wrong side of 30.
However, I can pick up a new copy of the Move edition for about half that. Am I right in thinking that you can play a Move version 'normally' with a controller as well?

    Jawohl

edit : that's why it's Move Compatible or Move Features rather than Move Required

I'm fairly sure there is only one version of Heavy Rain. The Move stuff came in an update.

I have a Macbook Pro, but about the only thing I use that for, gaming-wise, is World Of Warcraft. Never been a fan of the mouse 'n' keyboard combo.

Gaming's all about a controller, a sofa and a telly!

You've got to get both Demon's Souls (Ps3 only) and Dark souls (either, and the PC) - you simply can't miss them

I had a feeling you'd come by here to say just that. :-)

    Oh, thanks.
Well I just assembled that Gaming HTPC, info here, very pleased with it I am too.

The speakers are ProAc D15, had them for 10 years now but still love them!

Sadly I don't think I can add many games to those already posted but I do have a real soft spot for Alan Wake :-)
