All your buffs and debuffs are tallied up and then used against the next random seed.

It's not calculated till you fire, the results are the same because the same random element is used in each reload. If someone else took a shot then the next random seed would be different and your results would vary.

Just don't let it concern you. Yes the result is predetermined but that doesn't have an effect on how you play or the percentage chance. Its not cheating you, the odds are what is shown on the screen.

Sorry guys, I understand and appreciate what you're saying, but I'm kind of thinking about in a philosophical sense now.

Anyway, still looking forward to playing. And testing this out.

One review mention about the aliens moving whilst in the fog of war. Basically higher the difficulty level the more active they are

I had a sectoid patrol totally eff me up last night as i was already trying to battle 3 sectoids, so yeah they def do their own thing out of sight.

Also you'll sometimes see them pinging you and that will move around so you know they are moving.

my first game of this ended last night when i got pounced on by two floaters, i rushed my men into a building i thought was safe, bash the door down and OH SHIT!, 3 thin men.

    *WEEP*

I've restarted with a base in China and backed down to Classic rather than Classic Ironman for now heh :p

Does anyone know if there is some sort of scoreboard at the end, like in Civ?

Just a quick thanks to those of you posting your little death and failure stories, they are really cheering me up as I sit looking out of the window, waiting for the Postman.

I particularly relished El_Muerko's death of Tintin. A tautly observed and touching tale of the heroism and importance of each and every XCom trooper.

Did he have a quiff? Or rather, did he have Guile Hair?

This game is bloody ace. I thought it was a tad easy on normal until I got my first terror mission. Lost all but 1 dude to those zombie things.

Today my special team of XCOM soldiers becomes a reality. TODAY!

In the original I normally made medkits and sold them off, made a decent profit and never lacked money (though often countries became not nice). Are medkits something you can produce in this one?

you can make medkits, not sure that you can sell them off though. I only remember seeing recovered alien doodahs on the grey market

I was going to wait two weeks before getting this but thanks to you lot I am starting to talk myself into getting it tomorrow. Problem is that I'll have to exchange Borderlands 2 to get it tomorrow as my gaming budget is all but depleted. I'm trying to justify it by telling myself I'll get the game of the year version of BL2 when all the dlc is out.

I watched a guy play on Classic Ironman lastnight,he lost all his squad then showed us the 20 or so dead he lost already.Everyone was leaving the council, and the mission to get back on track he ran into a swarm of disc's.he was a gibbering wreck.

    Became a top priority buy.

There is, at the end it gives you a run down of loads of different variables along with a overall score and compares it to the rest of the world or something.

I couldn't see the world stuff since I have to stay in offline mode so it doesn't relock the game.

I know this has been asked previously, but I'm not sure it has been answered. Once you have lost a country from the council, is there any way of getting them back?

In the orignal game, once a country is gone, it is gone forever. Hopefully it is the same here!

There is a gamespot video on YouTube 2 hours long and Xcom lead designer jumps in about 45 mins in

Talk about why they left out aliens invading your base. They had it in the game, he just didn't felt it worked well at that moment of time. Does want it in the game, just that he wants it to feel right first

Modding for pc, not looked at it yet as they were just finishing the game first. They want to look into as they enjoy modding in their games.

Also postie has just dropped my copy off :)

Oh by the way, on the hologlobe is there a way to make it turn faster or is mine just bugged? It turns practically in real time on mine and I don't have 24 hours to wait around.
