There are a few people in the thread that are on my FL. I can't remember how you got there or the game we last played together.

But, even so, I love you dearly. I miss you and I want to play multiplayer with you. Just..just like we used to be.

Try drying it out on Starchild's loins.

Would it be too much to get up at 5am for a couple of missions before work?

I thought I'd be quite happy without this game for a while but then I went and had a read of the bloody review.
Why can't I be happy with one game at a time?

    IGN 8.2

XCOM is a great addition to the strategy genre, complete with an engaging campaign full of tension and challenges. The characters grow in satisfying ways, but the tactical game doesn't ever quite give players enough room to make the most of their abilities

No, it's unlocking Friday. Rest of the world gets it tomorrow, us EU spods have to wait.

Just played the demo on classic mode with a 6 man team. Lost two people. Love it.

I just really hope the randomised elements withstand replaying.

For some reason I thought the 12th was Wednesday. 48 hours won't make much of a difference.

You'll reach an end game at some point. But it's a game that you restart and replay, it's random like Civ 5 is random.

There are quite a few who do not like this bastard child of X-com. But i have already been warned off of posting my opinion because its classed as trolling, apparently. I am looking forward to Xenonauts personally.

The problem with outright dismissing it is that these games are few and far between. You're basically punishing yourself because of some preconceived idea.

So it might not be as complex as you want it and it may be streamlined, but you aren't going to get another big budget game like this for many years. Why not take the positives out of it and enjoy it for what it is, forget X-Com, enjoy this as a new game.

@AaronTurner I love X-com for what it is. An overly complex, long winded game with huge maps and equally huge ships to explore. This remake has stripped away the majority of things i most enjoyed from playing this type of game. So sorry for being bitter about a franchise that has kept me interested in games for an incredible amount of time.

X-Com is still there for you to enjoy. If this didn't have the X-Com name you'd probably be masterbating to the screenshots right now.

Well, here's RPS' article on what you should know about the demo, FWIW.
