    @agparrot

The final mission in the demo didnt hold your hand. You had a choice of missions too, which was nice.

Have we covered the fact that it can be finished in 15-20 hours on Normal yet?

Anyway, Thursday-Monday double poopsockathon for this and Dishonored next week. Hardstyle.
  • Deleted user 2 October 2012 15:31:51
    So what?
That is reasonable. I can't believe dishonoured is coming out on the 9th in France and Spain and we got to wait till 12th!! Messed up, I'm working on the 12,13,14 and 15th.

Will the game be any different three days later?

Give yourself £5 or Ĺ gig, you're worth it.

  • Deleted user 2 October 2012 15:38:41
No but having the game the same day as other European counties isn't much of a ask.

Original could be finished in 5.

I'll probably spend 15-20 hours just stroking my chin on a first play through.

From t'interview: "If you bump up to Classic (a higher difficulty) not only is it longer, but itís going to be a completely different experience because youíll need to focus on different elements to overcome the same obstacles."

    So there.

Also, if you've played the original and don't play this game on Ironman (no reloading), you are officially a girly man. You've had 15 years to train for this soldier!

I'll still play it on Normal, and quick-save (if possible) every 5 turns.

    Wimp and proud.

I have time off from the 12th Pctober to the 1st November.

I am supposed to be going on holiday to Rome with my gf in the middle of this. In the end, of course, this is negotiable.

Who's going to play on normal? Normal is for folk who ain't played the original. Classic difficulty completion followed by however long it takes to beat it at impossible ironman mode for me.

Is Ironman difficulty tougher than classic, or just the no quick loading?

    Ironman isn't a difficulty.

So it's a mode. Based on Classic or normal then?

It means you can only save on quit, to stop you reloading saves to do better.

I'd guess all difficulties can be done Ironman.

Thanks, I quite like the idea of that.
It's good to feel defeat a few times first.

There's an achievement on for finishing the game in Ironman Mode on either classic or impossible difficulty.

I'm really looking forward to this. Still remember renting X-Com from the local video store and watching X-files on tape. All the soldiers reminded me of Guile from street fighter. Hope thats a customization option in the game.

Looking forward to trying out the multiplayer as well if anyone is getting this on the PS3 feel free to add me if you want a match.

Not having read the entire thread - is anyone else getting some really natty mouse lag in the demo?

I've tried fidgeting about with pretty much everything in-game, even edited an .ini file as recommended on the 2K forums, but the pointer is still iffy. The demo itself runs butter-smooth, so it's not that I'm lacking any megahurtz or RAMs or anything.

That's the first time I've really seen the geoscope in action in a game-in-progress way, it looks lovely!

    /checks watch.

I suppose if Shopto are speedy speedy about it, then I'm a week and a day away from having and playing XCOM.

Yep there are a few bits and pieces in the video I don't think I have seen much of before. The geoscope seems to have a couple of view modes as well based on that.

The solider customisation tabs looks great as well.
