@Whizzo Errrr... No! Altair is an ancestor of Desmond. Stated in game one, right near the start actually.

Yeah, that's why they use Desmond; the DNA link strengthens the bond through the animus.

The mechanics would have to be radically overhauled to make this interesting. I'd rather they left it for the next generation.

At the very least, it should have a Batman AA-style "crouch" button. The way you hold down the right-trigger in Batman for stealth is exactly the kind of mechanic that this series needs.

In fact, it should just copy the controls of the Batman games wholesale, they're so much better for this kinda thing.

Ah quite right, it's Altair and Ezio that aren't related.

I hope Horses are not the main source of transport again, it's boring.

I hope there are trains. I like trains. Not much use for going where you want, but they could work for fast travel and possibly a leap from a train hidden blade kill.

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

The thought of a sneaky assassination mission on a train moistens my geek-gland!

The War of Independence is many decades before the first train in North America.

If they make it massive in terms of the world, it will become boring to traverse imo. Thats the problem I had with Red Dead as well. Once the inital wow factor wears off i.e i'm exploring the Amercian Revolution - I'll relise how boring it was during those times. Just my 2p on the matter.

Of course it is, how silly of me. Now please excuse me while I go and play my game based in Renaisance Italy with its authentic tanks, aeriel bomber and alien holograms :p

It's only 30(ish) years out, no reason the Templars couldn't have made one, especially given some of the Pieces of Eden can let you see into the future.

No sir, I look like one of those red coats over there.

Daniel Day Lewis moment, unbutton shirt, chuck some smoke bombs, run through chopping, get the girls, hop on boat.

    Stag shooting tower-defence minigame!

I got 'im right in the antlers.

The reason AC2 can (sort of) get away with shit like flying machines and tanks and whatnot, is because those were things Da Vinci actually concepted. Add in some artistic licensing and you've got silliness like that. But trains wouldn't really work in the same way.
  • Deleted user 2 March 2012 17:05:58
They show him hunting, probabily more pointless mini games.

The AC outfit looks seriously out of place in some of those shots, though. They should do a MGSesque thing where you have a range of different outfits that you can swap around that actually have a tangible effect on gameplay (being able to hide better, or wander about towns discreetly or some such), instead of just being a 'BUY ALL COLOURS TO UNLOCK ACHIEVEMENT' thing.

The Patriot. Jesus, thanks for reminding me of that godawful pile of shite, Ubisoft. Stick this fucking game up yer arse.
  • Deleted user 2 March 2012 17:16:42
You should be able to use disguises, no assassin is going to dress up in an outfit that marks him out as an Assassin.

There's a crapload of new info. on GAF.

    Crapload of information from GAF

I have to say, I like the sound of just about all of it! It really is sounding like RDR meets the Ass Creed.
  • Deleted user 2 March 2012 19:27:51
    Sounds mostly excellent.

Yeah sounds cool, and as I suspected it looks like some excellent big battles are gonna be thrown in somehow.
