I have made a start on my threatened Lego blog. Head over to Just another Lego blog to have a read.

More rants / reviews and rambling, imminently!
Just read this, enjoyed the ranty-ness (apart from the ID-5Kers gibe :p). Just a heads up though, EG do set limits on new users. If you go to the display settings section on your account and look at the very bottom it tells you how many posts/threads/whatever you're allowed to do.

    Mine says;

    Forum limitations

The following limitations apply to your account when posting on the forum. You can create:
    35 threads per 1 day
    21 posts per 60 seconds
    420 posts per hour

Permissions increase as your account ages, so stick around!
TBH, i don't think i could say 21 interesting things in a mere minute, let alone 420 in an hour.

Admittedly they're not harsh restrictions as per the other sites you mentioned, so it's pretty much a non-issue!

Anyway, i've bookmarked your blog, keep it up :)

EDIT: Just did a test and new users are set to:

    2 threads per 1 day
    3 posts per 60 seconds
    30 posts per hour
Anyway, back to the lego! :)

You can't appreciate the size of the Unimog until you see it next to stuff like that.

Few of you are fans of the Star Wars theme. 9515 The Malevolence both 40% off at Amazon.

Damn that's a good price on the Sith ship. I got one coming today; picked it up at $65 which is the cheapest it's ever been in the US.

I've decided I'm going to try and limit myself to SW ships and vehicles with the odd City and Technics thrown in. I really need to find a new display unit though, I've run out of room. I can't abide the thought of breaking them down as that's when pieces invariably disappear.

The theme leaves me cold, but later this year they're releasing a UCS Ewok Village. Even I'm looking forward to that :)

I like the star wars kits for parts - I like designing my own ships and I can never have enough grey/white and interesting blocks.

    They are? Would that work?
I can't Imagine an Ewok village without minifigs in it. And the UCSes are usually dipslay kits without minifigs and even on a different scale.

How do you know about this?

I have the 8038 The Battle of Endor squirreled away for when my Kids are old enough to watch Star Wars. If this UCS turns out to be minifigscaled rather than just a single hut on a treetrunk then I think I kind of owe it to my sons to buy it

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

@boo heh I picked it up from tesco yesterday, it looks pretty cool, think I might have to keep it!

Trying to remember back to my childhood, but don't recall ever having built a technic set.

Be glad for that. They're completely different nowadays. I still can't get my head around it.

I'm having to put stuff away in cupboards.

I've kind of gone off Star Wars atm., and am collecting Super Heroes (DC) and LotR. No space and the wife simply refuses to have any of it in the living room. :)

Got one of those giant Lego heads for my Birthday :))))

Nothing else Lego wise (yet) so I might treat myself to one of those SW ships on Amazon...

Edit: damn - they're both up to 'only' 20% off :(

Just finished the Mini-Modulars. Not the most enjoyable build, to be expected with so many 1x1's, but they look very cute. I don't have the full size Cafe Corner and Green Grocer, so this is as close as I'm gonna get to them :/

After getting the fire station I really want to splurge on some more modulars. Should get the Pet Shop, Town Hall and Grand Emporium before they get discontinued. I keep an eye out for sales but their prices are still so high I need to be high before I can muster the courage to look my partner in the face when the box arrives.

"You know how I was giving you a hard time over forgetting to mail a check so we got a $30 late fee? Yeah, this toy costs five times that amount."

Apparently Amazon.es is selling boxes of 60 Series 7 minifigs for just under 100 euros inc shipping.

:) The Modulars still offer the best value, price-per-piece, of Lego sets, alongside Creator. I should pull my finger out and get a camera sorted, if anyone's interested in how all these sets scale (a Unimog next to a Haunted House next to a Town Hall etc...).

@Tonka Sorry, I shouldn't have used the term UCS. Just as the Death Star isn't a UCS set (but people still call it that), the Ewok Village is planned to be a high piece-count playset, not a display model. Due out in August.

I thought I had seen pictures of all the sets coming out in 2013. Guess I was wrong.

    Hmmm...

    Big ass Ewok village eh?

Got some Birthday money burning a hole in my pocket - any Technic or SW bargains on Amazon?

Also built the B-model to the Technic pick-up tow truck. Actually a really nice model and some lovely mechanics. Actually works better than the a-model :)

Amazon (and a few other places) are doing the X-Wing at under 40, and a similar price for the Tie Fighter.

Legendary space battle for less than 80!

Edit - 118 is pretty good for the Falcon, too!

Got the Falcon, but the X-Wing and Tie Fighter are tempting.

    /already has 2 X-Wings. Or maybe 3...?

    Got this yesterday.

Not started building it yet as my eldest (3 1/2) insists that he wants to help me... It should make for a fun Wednesday afternoon, though :)
