Bought 5 packs of series 9 minifigs yesterday. Every single one was the knight! Haha.

So if anyone needs a knight just shout because I have a complete army at the moment.

Hmmmm get bonus tomorrow. All money recently has been saving towards a house. Tempted to buy something fun. Tempted by the VW camper van, cheaper millenium falcon model, or r2-d2 or technic unimog.

Not tempted by angry wife :-(

Not sure which to get between the Falcon and R2...

Falcon is a really good price at the mo. But R2 looks like a cooler finished model.

    Gah.

I just finished building R2 yesterday. Was great fun, and he does look awesome.

    Got the Falcon.

Huge model, and certainly the best version I've seen... Really enjoyed the build too

Think a few here were interested in picking up 30164 Lex Luthor. He goes for at least 12 quid on ebay, but the fine folks at Amazon are now doing the Ltd Edition Lego Batman 2 (PS3) for 15.53

The Falcon >>>>>>>>> any other thing in the entire Star Wars universe.

Good point. Gone for the Falcon, 99 from the Hut, already underpriced IMO.

Hopefully R2 still available at the end of the year :-(

R2-D2 has only been out a short time. I would think you're safe up until Christmas at the very least.

You folded and started building your shuttle yet, boo?

Mine is going to wind up costing me more money then it could ever be worth as I have to buy more Lego to keep the itch scratched.

    :o)

    Nope!

It's bubblewrapped and in the loft until Summer, 2022.

I wonder if I were to start building mine and posting pictures how long yours would remain in the loft :)

I must confess I'm seriously regretting not buying two!

But as for the one in the loft, I've already made my mind up. My Mum died last year, and my Dad died in '97, so in 2022 it'll be Mum's 10th anniversary and Dad's 25th.

I reckon that a bunch of resellers will sell their Shuttle's this coming Christmas, and the hardcore ones will wait three or four years.

But in 10 years time, a mint, sealed one will be rarer than a rare thing, at which point I'll sell it for an absolute pile of cash, and I'm going to donate the proceeds to the Stroke Association (Mum), and Cancer Research (Dad).

So crack on and build yours, and I'll live vicariously through you!

I really wish I had bought a few of the buggers as well. Got mine on sale for $210; they are already selling upwards of $300.

Got an extra X-Wing for cheap over Xmas, which is being kept, along with a few polybags from Legostore offers.

I've bought a pile of stuff since Christmas, but I'm putting a hold on any more purchases for a bit. Saving up for the new technic crane and the the rescue truck that should be appearing in August.

And I'm wondering about the Mindstorms EV3, which should be out before Christmas. Very tempted, but I'm not actually sure what I'd do with it...

Well I'll keep the temptation at bay for a wee while longer. Bought myself the Sith Fury class ship for $60. 10% off from a store which has a 30% off offer for first time customers.

I've no interest in the game but it's a sweet looking ship nonetheless.

The new Technics sets for this year look frigging fantastic.

NY Toy Fair images. Pretty much most of the Lego coming out in 2013, with pictures.

Warning for those intending to buy the advent calendars; most of the items are shown, so stop clicking then.

This year's Technics sets are looking like wallet busters.

Proper LEGO Castle is back. YAY!
The Lone Ranger sets look brilliant. I'm sure they'll end up besting their source material (that looks dire)

Oh dear.... that Cargo truck and plane... I thought I had stocked up on all the LEGO I wanted... Oh my oh my....

I guess I might be able to argue myself out of buying the plande because of all the big parts. But that truck...

And then I see the prices the lucky Americans pay for their LEGO. ;_; Why god WHY!?!?!?!

    Nooooooooooooooooo!!!

I wanted the Lego Technic Flatbed truck, but it's gone end of life, and the best I could find was 109.99 from a reseller on Amazon (compared to the RRP of 71.99).

Just as well, as Mrs Boo would have gone nuts if I'd brought another set into the house, so it's unavailability solved that problem for me.

But I found a local shop selling it at RRP over the weekend! Only one left...

/cue Angel & Demon appearing on my shoulders

You should get it - it's a (relative) bargain and you'll never find a brand new one at RRP again...

Think how cross Mrs Boo would be if you bought it...

I've made a decision. I have to have a tooth out on Wednesday week. If it's still there, I'll buy it as a reward for being uber brave while somebody yanks bits of my head out with a pair of pliers.

If it's gone by then, it wasn't meant to be.

I suppose I could buy it now, and leave it hidden in the boot of the car until next week...

    That way lies madness!

And, uh, where was this shop ? Just asking...

You could just take on of the following cunning techniques
    a> Not telling Mrs Boo
b> Buy her something as a distraction (No, not more LEGO)...
c> What in the world can that be !

...or you could tell her that the EG collective bought it for you to thank you for your sterling efforts with the Secret Santa every year...?

I inherited a lot of Lego from my Uncle, who was a bit of a spoilt bastard being the youngest in the family. Loads of proper Lego Space stuff, which are the sets I yearn for the most.

I also remember getting a metric fuckton of Star Wars toys when we were about 6 or 7 (so about 88 or 89) from a family that had teenage boys that had all their figures, models and vehicles all given to us in massive cardboard boxes. I bet my dad was grateful to receive all that back in the day :)

If you could work out how it went together then you could probably buy the individual parts from Lego.

I know I sure as hell want one!

I emailed a guy on Flickr once and asked him how he had built a certain model. He sent me some pictures of it taken apart in smaller chunks that explained the process.

Then I put together a list of the parts he used and emailed him some questions about a few of the parts where I was uncertain. He was very helpful and it made for the most kick ass christmas present ever.

So if you write a polite email asking him if he has som pictures that could help you figure out how it was built he might help you out. Or not. But it never hurts to ask.
