For reference, the quote was taken from the last page referring to the new model in Oct, which is why I'm curious.

I do indeed have a MISB 10179 in the loft. Am I gutted that it's being rereleased? Not at all. As soon as I got back into Lego, I promised myself that one day I'd have that 10179. This way I get two cool Falcons. And there are oodles of people who wouldn't / couldn't spend daft money on one, and this way it becomes a bit (for large values of 'a bit') more acheivable.

Yeah, it's been two years since I updated the blog - just got out of the habit. I think this will be enough to start me rambling again though.

I know everyone's getting excited by the new UCS StarWars set, but has anyone seen the new Technic sets?

The 6x6 All Terrain Tow Truck

    The Tracked Extreme Adventure vehicle

The former definitely seems overpriced - over 200 for less than 2000 pieces - OK so it's motorised and R/C but that alone can't justify it costing more than the Porsche GT3 or the Bucket Wheel Excavator (which has twice as many pieces!)...

Tbh I was hoping for something a bit more extraordinary and a bit more... new. At $800 I'll pass.

    It's no R2D2 is it! ;o)

In all seriousness though...that doesn't do a lot for me. Nothing more than the 130 jobby did anyway. It looks nice, but not $800 nice to me.

Do want. But I also want Slave I, BB8, the Snowspeeder and some other shit, which could all be had together for the same price, with change.

Still, it is the ultimate Lego set.

For 650 I'd want minifigs of every single character who has stepped foot on the Falcon and maybe some light / sound / motor functions.

I think I'll focus on the other UCS sets instead.

I want to get Ninjago City, IDEAS Fishing Store and UCS BB-8 tomorrow.
With the UCS MF on the 14th Sept I'm wondering if I should hold off on some of that till next month. I probably won't because I'm impulsive and shit with money but I think I probably should.

I'd still like the Saturn V too. There's a lot all of a sudden.

That's the same price as an iPad Pro which I also want and would find infinitely more useful.

And only 200 less than that ultra wide curved pic screen I want.

    Pah.

    Anyone watching Legomasters?

It is essentially Bake-off but with Lego. I really enjoyed this week's episode but was not so impressed by last weeks.

I watched it last night. I quite liked it, but is it me or are most of the contestants a bit rubbish (the teachers who did the pirate park are heads and shoulders above the rest)

The Cambridge Engineers build fairly interesting things from a mechanical perspective but are not very good aesthetically.

The pirate themed park was far better than the others. The octopus ride was really good.

The Last Jedi sets have been officially revealed:

    https://brickset.com/article/30302/star-wars-the-last-jedi-sets-revealed!

Disappointed by how expensive they are in the UK. The Resistance Transport Pod is way too expensive at 40.

Will probably pick up Kylo Ren's Tie-Fighter and maybe the First Order Heavy Assault Walker when they're in an Amazon sale.

The UK prices are revolting. Evil Disney for you. Going to stick with the far superior and better vlue Ninjago sets I think.

@PazJohnMitch I watched last week's and thought it was ok. However, I refused to watch it this week as Richard Osman was on it and didn't miss it. It lifts heavily from Bake-Off (a good thing) but the presenter's forced quips make him really grating (a bad thing).

If you put it like that, the ninjago set does seem like good value. . Reading other sites though, UK seems to have gotten off easy, and if you go be price per brick, 7.5k peices for 650 isn't bad value. 10p a brick would bring it in at 750.

Bought the Fishing Store and BB-8, left Ninjago City for now. NC was built in-store and looked excellent but I think the Fishing Store is the best for some time.

Spoke a bit about the UCS MF and they've advised me to be there at opening on the 14th - they think they'll have people queueing and there's a fear they'll sell out.
I'm going to be there an hour early.
