Saw this on Brothers Brick this morning, the UK's only Lego Certified Professionals: Bright Bricks

Must say, I don't actually envy them. When I see all these massive sets, like the life-sized F1 car, Hobbit house, Rolls Royce engine etc... I'm just reminded how tedious some of the bigger commercial sets are to build (Tower Bridge being a particular offender imo).

The big models do look great built though:

They're doing an event in Basingstoke from 26th of February to 27th of April: linky

I bought Cloud Cuckoo Land (from the movie) for my girlfriend as a totally transparent attempt to get her into Lego too the other day and she just sent me a photo of it built and displayed on her shelf.

Cool. Don't think there's much I want at the moment, although I probably would be tempted by the UN Building if I actually set foot in a shop.

@Tonka Possibly yes but it does help me defend my obsession with a sophisticated interlocking brick system knowing that she's happily got some of her own now too.

79008 Pirate Ship Ambush is a third off at Amazon at the mo. It's a very poor Lego ship imo, but a lot of you guys are LotR nuts.

I like how they've priced it at 349. Because at 350, psychologically, it would seem just a bit too much

Why would anyone ever seriously consider buying that? Having said that; they'll probably sell out within a day.

I just ordered myself President Business' Evil Lair for 42.97 from Amazon which seems like a good price for it. I mostly want the daft President figure but there's a bunch of cool features in the set so I'm looking forward to putting it together.

Before seeing the film I'd never have considered buying any if the sets but I've got a few if them now although it does sorta feel like I'm treading water until those new Star Wars sets turn up later in the year. If only I actually had room for them!

I think theMovie sets are brilliant. The two in ones in particular.

Oh, I built the garbage truck lastweekend. Not the one from the film but theother one. Nice build and cool features but it breaks quite easily in the hands of a four year old (not to mention 15month old).

Yep - same here. Built it, it got broken within a day. Never rebuilt. Nice model though.

Went to pick up some of the Star Wars Microfighters at lunchtime (I got the Tie Fighter for my birthday, and wanted the other 3 OT ships), and then saw the SuperCycle Chase set from the Lego Movie, marjked down to 31.99 (from 45). With staff discount - 24!!!

/'Technic only' rule looking more broken by the minute

Maybe I'll save it and use it as a Secret Santa pressie.

I built some LEGO Space Vintage (1985) with a friend the other day. He has a ton of it, and instructions in his loft. (the bastard) It was great.

    Here are some pics!

    @Slint1000

heh same here. I want a few of the summer star wars sets, and none of the current ones interest me much (apart from the v-wing which i bought already).

In other news, built a couple of the chibi-style Star Wars Microfighters last night.
Did the X-Wing and the Tie-Interceptor. Got the Falcon and the Star Destroyer to do tonight (didn't bother with the two prequel trilogy sets).

Thought they were great! 100 pieces or less, and they make cute little ships with some neat building techniques, plus a few parts that I've not come across before.

Hope they extend the range in future.

That's cool. I like how he got the 1985 woodchip wallpaper to be totally authentic

I seen the Simpsons LEGO in person last week and I can't shake the temptation! The LEGO store in the Metro Centre is fantastic too. Love the place. Wish I knew it was opening so I could have applied! :D

Anyway, I bought my stepdad for his birthday the LEGO Back the Future Delorian. Great set.

I did find in the back room this weekend a random Limo w/figures and an Air Taxi helicopter - but missing the propellers :(
