    Phew! Someone else has bought them and the problem has gone away.
    And yes, I do mainly stick to Technic, but there's something about a complete street full of Modulars that appeals.

    If I'd bought them I could have played with them while living on the street after Mrs Boo divorced me and kicked me out.

    Jeks Starfighter thing is under 40 on Amazon at the moment. Not everyones cup of tea, but i like it as a display model, and 5 less than i paid last week!

    I take it that most lego sets have a limited run and once they're gone they will never be sold again? Saw a lunar lander kit on amazon for 800. Crazy. Also loads of stuff is more expensive on amazon than buying directly from the official store. Weird.

    Yep, your assumptions are correct. Some people speculate in LEGO to pay for their hobby.

    Amazon change Price depending on how many sets they have left.

    You'll also have Amazon marketplace vendors. They are responsible for the stupidly priced sets.

    So, tax refund day tomorrow...

    Heh /offtopic, but there was an American dude at work today on the phone to someone who must have been from the IRS. They were having a proper barney.

    I was in IKEA today and got me some Ribba (giggle). Did the mini-fig display thing, turned out pretty well:

    My non-lego appreciating partner actually said it looks pretty cool and we should do more and hang them in the living room! Win! :)

    One of my biggest regrets is not buying the Imperial Star Destroyer special set when it was first released. It now goes for mental money on ebay.

    /has had pretty easy life.

    Back in the day peej, who I think went by pj maybe, got that set and posted pics of the build.

    I definetly recal a strong sense of jealousy. I was in my dark ages but still lusted. I think that may have been what relight the touch paper which set off my addiction a number of years later.

    @ZuluHero nice!

    Still haven't got my Ribbas, but I built a couple of stands that will fit inside them. Wanted to make more of the space as there's a lot of white inside

    @ZuluHero

    Does the baseplate fit perfectly in the frame or is it mounted in some way?

    The square plates are just one stud too big, but it pretty much fits the hole.

    I'm thinking of taking out the mount and doing a full frame version with a larger baseplate (and cutting it to size) to hold more minifigs.

    The frames are cheap too - only 3.50 and come in white or black.

    Buy as many as you can afford. The set retails for $25 in the US and the Fett figure goes for a tenner on eBay. At six quid you could part of the mini figs and skiff separately and make some healthy profit.

    Well they only had the one. But thanks for the advice!

    Could have done with a healthy profit too.

    Ok, so I've got about 25 to throw at some Lego. Ideally looking at Technic but like the look of those Lego Movie sets.

    What can you guys recommend?

    @Flying_Pig

    Technic LEGO you say?

    Technic Moto Cross Bike, perhaps?

    ... or go for the Castle Cavalry if you wish to buy the best bricks-for-your-money LEGO Movie set, which is 24.99!

    Been feeling under the weather the past few weeks, my IBS has flared up and on top of it I now have a suspected kidney infection, so to cheer me up Mrs ZH bought me this when she popped out today:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO%C2%AE-Play-Book-Tim-Goddard/dp/1409327515/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395864869&sr=8-1&keywords=lego+play+book

    It goes lovely next to my Lego Ideas book :)

    I did spot the bike, but I already have this one, and his looks pretty similar... Castle Cavalry on the other hand...

    Equally this Monster Truck looks interesting...

    Technic? I concur with the MotoCross bike recommendation, or if you can stretch to 30, then the new Hot Rod is pretty cool.
