Not sure whether I'm jealous of the guy for having the time, space or money, but either way, take a look at this:

The new Star Wars Lego sets are out. Had a chance to look at all the boxes while at Legoland and unfortunately none of them gave me proper wood. The Malevolance is pretty nice and the Sith fighter from KOTOR looks very cool, but they are are all really overpriced.

I think I'm going to save up for Tower Bridge; $230 for 4200 pieces. Who cares if 2,000 of them are single tiles, what a bargain!

Anyone got the latest Slave 1? Seems to be discontinued to the price has jumped up a notch I think - unless it was always 90 quid. Is it worth it?

    You mean this one? http://i.imgur.com/FU0m3.jpg

yeah I got it, or rather my 4 year old does. It's a great set but I'm not sure it's worth it for 90 tbh. Having said that, it's his favourite toy in the world and he hasn't stopped playing with it since his birthday in March, so worth it in that respect.

I've gone off their licensed stuff. Don't know what happened. I used to be "OMFG I wish they had all this when I was a kid" to "Oh my look at that new Lego CITY Mine kit"

One of the main contributing factors is that once you have built The Millenium Falcon set youcan't take it apart and build something cooler with it. It's a dead end.

But couple that mining lego with some of the new Marshals and red necks and you have instant Justified lego on your hands. Then take it apart and build some awesome Ghostbusters cars and stuff.

This YouTube channel is awesome for reviews btw.

And look at this custom Batmobile

Now isn't that a treat? And you can buy it as well.

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

I'm still trying to find good Mindstorms deals. Went just under 200 very briefly on Amazon but then tipped over shortly afterwards.

Do Lego still manufacture these sets? They were around 160 a few months ago.

It's lovely. I managed to get it for about 40 on a discount. 90 is pushing it, though.

I've read some rumors and speculations about a Mindstorms NXT v3.0 being in the works.

The kid's school is running a Lego robotics team for the first time this year. Of course, kid is signed up. Now we need her to start tapping her paw-paw for those frigging expensive sets; it's for SCHOOL and LEARNING!!!

That sounds awesome. I think I might just enquire about starting something like this at mini-sports school.

You know the thing is, although we joke about getting these kits just so we can play, the kids REALLY will learn a heck of a lot from building with it - construction, creative thought, logical thinking, planning, experimenting etc...

Aye, it's at a good time too. She did a science Olympiad last term and is now starting to really enjoy maths. Chuck some Lego and computers into the mix and we have win. Her experience fiddling with redstone circuits should also help out some, turning the Minecraft sessions into study \o/

Those custom sets are nicely priced compared to the official ones.

I like the official mini-city modules. It's 60 quid but I reckon I could pick up some nice mini building techniques.

Yeah, those are brilliant. I wish LEGO would release the MBA stuff over here. They have a kit dedicated to miniscale building techniques.

Could probably fit a mini city in my apartment with those kits. Definitely on my list.

Got the Star Wars Land Speeder recently. Was going for 16quid on Amazon rather than 25. Not bad. I like how it can glide over carpets. Need to figure out a scene for it.

Anyone used brink link to bulk order? I need lots of hinges but can't tell if theyll be coming from multiple stores or 1. How does it work. If I order 150 of these things, will they be turning up in dribs and drabs over the next year? :)

@Khanivor Really? The annoying thing with the MBA "expansion packs" is that they are on a subscription model thing. So you can't order a bunch of them.

Wait! I just had a look and it seems as if they have remade the deal so that there are boxes with the expansions. Awesome!!

    How would this work though?

Oh boy jolly good. (I need to convince the missus that this is the best thing ever) (after I tell her that I just ordered the LEGO City Gold mine...)

yeah, if you add a brand for the same size kit you can expect 30 more on big sets.

For instance, i actually think that Dracula's castle is far cooler than say Helms Deep or Hogwarts.

    Crazy really.
