TheSaint wrote:I got the village set last year and it's fantastic in its own right. Put it by the tree. I'll be getting the set this year too and would like to get some of the older ones if I can find them for a decent price.
Quite like the look of the winter village sets as well. I think they would go quite well with our Christmas decorations.
Got a whole album on G+ but I can't figure out how to share it from my phone....

@Tonka - Robofrog
Ok here is my robot walker:-
right arm with massive chainsaw and shoulder detail:
waving with claw left hand (claw has about 3 points of articulation and is very versatile):
(functional) claw grabbing minifig
I know its not strictly a robot, but i hope it counts!
Robot built. Pics up later
@ZuluHero nice. I'm a bit mad at myself for not buying some of the Alien Conquest stuff that your robot reminds me of.
Yeah it was made out of this set
i have the tripod too...some of which was used in my last build as well. I love the mechanical looking bits and bobs..really useful for these sorts of builds
Love the gatling gun!!
Holy shit some good entries this week. Bit of a rush job with mine, also limited with my brick set consisting of mostly City stuff. Pics in the morning.
@Flying_Pig great entry. Am I misremembering stuff or was blue the classic space colour
Yeah it was, Space Police plus the older classic space were blue, monorails were largely white, Blacktron....... Black unsurprisingly lol!
I'm tempted by the winter stuff , did not want to expand out of modulars and city but........that carousel is awesome and I think it's going to be a future classic IMO.
@Tonka - pretty much. Early 80s was mainly grey, switching to blue/white
Most of the bricks used were actually from Star Wars sets....
Posted my pics now. Didn't really have the pieces for a robot I planned. What I've made is a hybrid van/launcher/robots arms thing. It's solid and can take a beating. The rocket launcher was a last minute idea.

Just bought a Jek-14 Stealth Starfighter (75018)
So... Who won?
Sorry for not taking part again - things are a bit crazy at the minute.
As regards the winner, ZuluHero set the theme, so ZuluHero decides the victor.
Oh whoops ok, sorry i've been a bit busy - So who entered this time? Was it just Me, Tonka, Motti82 and Flying Pig?
Did i miss anyone?

LEGO Playbook is only £4.99 at The Book People right now (RRP £16.99). Free delivery until midnight Wednesday too if you use the code GIFTDEL (I assume this works for new customers too).

I'll blame a lack of time and resources on my feeble effort
Well after much deliberation the winner is.....
TONKA with his awesome frog mech. It was a tough call but i really Loved the use of colour and the design... Like a froggy ghost in the shell robot. Detailed yet sleek.
Your call on the next theme and choice of winner! Gratz though, it really is a cool build
Yay! Thank you!
I have thought of a theme but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to reveal it. (I need a proper keyboard and mouse so that I can link some examples)
It will be very broad and challenging but not technically so.
Well done Tonka - really liked your RoboFrog
I demand a recount!
People of the LEGO LEGO LEGO thread. Your challenge, should you chose to accept it, for the week is to use your bricks and imaginations to
In other words, build (or compose) something that captures the essence or looks like something in the real world. And yes, the USS Enterprise exists in the real world.
In this challenge you may use an official LEGO set but unless you show some degree of creativity that won't land you the first prize. Let me illusutrate
Is an acceptable submission. The minifig on its own (or the Empire State building on its own) wouldn't be enough. But now it's the scene form King Kong so it's OK.
But, that scene would be bested by this iconic MOC (one of my first)
What the heck is that second one supposed to be?
Why you little!
It's a radio in case you weren't joking
Wow. Very interesting. Something I'll have to give some thought to...
