@Khanivor Why's that? Because you're not in Paris and/or I'm not sending you Harry Potter Lego? ;)

Forget sending her Lego, doesn't Paris now have the biggest Lego store in Europe? Perfect excuse to visit.

    Sorry about that.

I think it may be at Disneyland so not actually in Paris itself.

So, after missing the deadline last week, I'm gonna try to keep this week's creation simple.

I'm thinking some kind of mech with a pilot in the head*

*End result may be totally different

Posted it in the swapsie thread, but not sure if anyone saw it...

Got two Gingerbread men and one sky diver for swaps, if anyone is interested.

I hope nobody minds, but I blogged about the Spaceship building comp, and have posted up pictures of the entries.
If anyone wants their stuff removed, just shout.

    Cheers!

Two new LEGO animations out. Watched them with my oldest (3yo) last night and he asked why they were angry all the time. I agree. This grumpy minifig trend is stupid.

Sure, I like the variety, but what reason does the Heliplane pilot have to look al mega focused and stressed out?

    Bring back the happy face!

Shame Amazon don't sell more of the 'proper' Lego sets. A third off the modular buildings, haunted house, or even R2D2 would be instabuy for me.

Only just discovered this thread, now I want to buy loads of Lego. As a youngster I sold a massive box of the stuff to my cousins for a pittance as I thought I was too grown up for it. MORE FOOL ME.

Got some building time in. The Robot themed lego mba came in handy. Too bad I'm fed up with the colours

I've started spending too much time on ebay now. I really want to build my SW collection but don't think I need to buy new as it's the Lego I want. Then I find myself wanting the box anyway.

So, I find myself trying to convince myself not to spend around $140 on the Venerator attack cruiser. OK, it's PT stuff but damn it looks awesome and it would go really well with my Republic Cruiser, which was the SW Lego set that really got me back into buying Lego.

Does anyone else have a hard time deciding which themems to restrict themselves to, or even more challenging, which sub themes?

I find myself drawn to Knights of the Old Republic sets even though they are about as far removed from the real deal as you can get. And I never played the game beyond the tutorial of the beta. But I have the Sith ship and think it's one of the acest sets I own. I'd prefer to stick to the OT stuff and am pretty close to deciding to hoover up all Tatooine based sets. Which is why I spend so much time looking at Amazon watchlists and scouring ebay...

Damn! I can't believe my mate shared that link! I was saving that for the fantasy round of the building como.

Oh well, guess I'll break it down and start work on the life-size Hobbiton.

Definitely. I started out (as a lot of others) with the Star Wars. Only classic. But then I got fed up with the license tax and a lot of things came together
    1 I started watching Justified
2 The Robbers hideout is Harlan County
3 And so is the gold mine
4 The gold mine was insane value for money compared to SW sets

That took me down the LEGO CITY path. Not much interest in the police stuff though. But the new Cargo line they have out this year is just magic. It's all the accessories that do it. The conveyor belts, forklifts and engines on pallets.

At the same time I absolutely adore the MBA sets and in a way I'm glad they're only in the states.

    GAH.. get a blog eh?

Now that they have started doing classic Castle again I'm really tempted to dip my toe in that. And then there's the unexpected gathering set that I'd LOVE to have but can't justify the price of.

Anyhows... I bought a Christmas present for Kid A (no really, it's for him, honest!)

I'm hoping to get chance to build something over the weekend...

In terms of themes - I've restricted myself to Original Star Wars, but occasionally go on ebay to buy some 80s/90s Space Lego :)

But, I did get a rather spiffing little Technic set from my EG Secret Santa, which totally reinvigorated by interest in Technic stuff, which has resulted in my buying 3 more pretty sizeable sets :)

Nothing else really interests me, although my son will be getting a Lego Castle for his 4th Birthday next month :D

Just had a look at my Brickset wish list and it is basically UCS Star Wars, larger Technic sets, modular buildings and landmarks (tower bridge etc.). I've got my eye on Minecraft and the Sopwith camel as well.

Double VIP points could lead to an expensive month.

Quite like the look of the winter village sets as well. I think they would go quite well with our Christmas decorations.

On an unrelated note, I'm opening registration for EG Secret Santa 2014 next Friday (Oct 4th).

Maybe I'll see if fate pairs up some of the Lego fans...
