Popped to the Stratford store at lunch with the intention of treating myself to an R2D2 but they'd sold out :(

Already had my heart set on the free mini-camper and couldn't walk away empty handed so brought it's big brother to go with it.

Hopefully October will see double VIP points and I can treat myself to R2 then.

Also got the chance to watch a mini-fig bag feeler at work. The guy must have gone through about about twenty bags before a member of staff came over to see what he was doing. I wonder if he ended up with the ones he wanted? It wasn't someone from this thread was it?

Sounds like some sort of sexual deviance....

I used to love LEGO when I was a kid.

I am now 25 years old and I worryingly find myself looking at LEGO in The Entertainer or Toys 'R' Us with a slightly forbidden impulse to buy them.

... what is wrong with me?!

I want both of those really bad :(

I also want the fourth wave of the SW Planets. Which are not going to be released in the US. Which is shite.
I can pick a set up once they're released and send them over if you like.

    Just say the word.
I'll probably have you do that. Got all the other nine and these three are easily the best series of the lot.

@TheSaint - October will be double VIP points. Two weeks that month will also have a fee Xmas themed set so that's when I'll be spending some money. Then in November I'll get this year's Winter set with the other Xmas freebie and those points.

@boo I'm jealous, mine tolerates all the games and the Lego, but she doesn't really understand it.

My daughter on the other hand is like a mini-me :)

I think Mrs Boo takes the view 'If he's going to have a mid-life crisis, I'd rather he was building Lego than killing himself on a motorcycle.'

I've got with a fair chuck of stuff on display in the apartment. In fact the R2D2 was supported by the GF. She thought it looked cool. She has even tried out gaming a bit - never done it before she met me - but got headaches from Most things. At least she tried. Even gave coming to a footie game a go.

All good. Got mates who I can share those particular joys with. And she hasn't once complained about them.

We get a 25% staff discount.

Very strict rules though - it has to be either for yourself, or a genuine gift for someone. Claiming discount on behalf of someone else is a sackable offence, and they take it very seriously indeed.

Whooo, finally got around to do some free building. Kid A wanted a dragon so I pulled the Heliplane apart and got building.

My respect for LEGO builders on Flickr has increased 10 fold. Man I need to learn more techniques.

    Anyhows here it is

And here he is fighting the Black Knight (courtesy of @boo)

In the end the dragon lost a tooth and the Black Knight turned out to be a skilled dentist and they became best friends.

Those are not my hands btw

That's some serious teeth action going on there! Gotta hurt when he chews, although that may explain why he's boss-eyed!

Excellent work that man (and, no doubt, small assistant)!

    /thinks

Maybe we could have a weekly Lego challenge? Somebody posts a subject on a Monday, and you have until, say 8pm on a Sunday night, to post a picture of your build.
Whoever sets the project gets to judge the winner, and then somebody else gets to set the next week's task.

No prizes, just a bit of fun.

    Anyone up for it?

Sounds like a laugh, especially given the low number of pieces I have compared to some of you guys!
