Hmm I really want the crane but it's 60cm long it won't fit on my shelf with the others, something is going to have to go.

Not lego, but releated I feel.
    I just bought the:
Meccano Gears of War C.O.G Armadillo Armored Personnel Carrier. I'm a bit of a Gears nut, so look forward to building it :)

@boo, thank you for your reply a couple of pages back.

Crikey! Meccano's changed a bit from when I were a lad.

It was metal bars, metal plates and a million tiny nuts and bolts that ended up in the Hoover, resulting in much remonstrating from Mum.

Feel the power of the COG ;)

80 odd pieces, or so it states on the box, looks to be a good size

Been on the fence for a while but popped into Westfield Stratford at lunch and brought fire brigade.

If anyone has a modelzone near them then it might be worth popping in as they appear to be in admin and all Lego is 20% off. I was very tempted by the Unimog at 113.

I have that Meccano set and it's pants, imo. I was given it, so it's not a big deal, but it's just a really cheap, plastic toy.

Thanks for pissing on my parade mate;)

oh well it was 12 and it is Gears so no harm no foul.

Also the Lego store had the BttF set in stock. I didn't have time to check if the spelling mistake had been fixed though.

Your love of Gears might be enough to ignore the shortcomings of the model. Heck, you might just like it.

    I'm not into it. Sorry.

And my haunted house conversion spiralled into 50 of extra parts. I'm either really good at visualising what I need or its a missing part disaster in the making ! And this is just for the first part, eventually I want to raise it up on a hill with a path and add some trees/graveyard and statue.

Heh, their description is cringe-worthy; how many times can the say "cool"?!

I want to do a similar project, but don't have space at the moment. Do you have the rest of the Monster Fighters range? To go with HH, I'd recommend 9464 Vampyre Hearse, looks nice parked next to the house, reminds me of The Munsters.

I've bypassed the rest of the range as they didn't fit what my idea was, and I am super short on space. I have the modular cinema and fire station, plus the city train and station and other bits. The hearse is cool but I think it would be too big to fit through the haunted house gates and doesn't fit with the Phantom Manor conversion, though if I see it cheap will probably get it as I need a coffin for what Im doing.

I'll post some pictures once I get going, my plan involves putting the Haunted House onto a large 48x48 base board and extending the wall at the front to be higher and longer, and that connects with the modular range, the wider width over the 32 long board most modulars are on should allow the house to stand apart from the other buildings. Then I have the pavement in front of it etc

I'm still trying to resist the urge to get mobile crane mk2, I keep telling myself it's 150 and I've got no room for it and there's the other part of me that says it looks fantastic and you need it right now. Must resist.

All that will happen is three or four years down the line, you'll decide you have to have it, and end up paying 250 on ebay.

    Buy now and save money!

I bought the Mindstorms NXT 2 late last year before Xmas when it briefly came down to 180. I still have it boxed and unopened.

It's currently going for 450 on Amazon - cha ching!!!

The EV3 might be a good buy for all you Lego investors out there.

@CaptainKerbal Cheers for the heads up. I was considering sending the mother-in-law to the Lego shop near where she works, so that is much better!

Thanks, in part, to boo's enthusiasm, just got back with the new Crawler. Box is pleasingly small, but it's the same damn weight as the other big sets; I've nearly got heat stroke carrying it home :/

Stratford have plenty in stock, and are thankfully limiting it to one-per-customer, to thwart greedy people.
