Just finished building the modular Fire Brigade Station to go with my Palace Cinema, both are fantastic builds and really interesting to do, lot of clever techniques - the signs in both are both done compeltely differently. If anyone is thinking of starting the modulars then the part count and size of the Fire one makes it a bargain and it'll probably be the next to be retired.....

I really want the Haunted House but 150 just seems a lot for what you are getting.

Anyone else got this and can say anything that'll make me rethink that ?

I have a couple of Haunted Houses, and while the price-per-piece is a bit higher than the regular modulars, I'd still recommend treating yourself. It comes with minifigs, can be rebuilt into a Victorian house, sand-green is an uncommon colour for Lego elements. and it just looks really cool - it's a Lego Haunted House!! Buy the Town Hall before Haunted House though.

Being able to make the car from each of three films is a nice touch.

A big shoutout and thank you to David who went out and bought me a 8043 after I asked him to pick it up for me. Nice to know there are good folk out there willing to do others a favour just because they share an interest. Good Man

@morriss it is a very poor looking set if you ask me. Could have been so much better. I think because the model is so small it is let down by lack of detail. I know its a cuusoo set but the prototype looked better. Shame really.

Word is that the Lego stores are selling the B-Wing at 50% off. Someone over at Brickset confirmed it for the Bluewater store.
No sign of it being matched on the Lego website though.
Might be worth a look if you're in the vicinity though.

    I want it!

Seriously, if it is on offer and anyone fancies grabbing one I'll pay you for the model plus shipping, and chuck in something extra as a thanks.

Glasgow store had a couple on sale at 118.99 the other week there, so not as much as 50%

I was in briefly looking for BTTF on Thursday but don't think I saw any left.

BTTF wasn't there - anyone know when it's due for release?

I'm quoting from the Brickset thread...

Bluewater had (yesterday, Friday) 'a few' at 84.99, but Watford and Stratford (Westfield) had none.

Jesus - 85 quid? I was considering getting it at 35!

I see the website says 35 though so let's hope that's accurate

    Cheers

Help me out guys. I fancy building a Lego Technic. Something pneumatic, or motorised.

Are there any you'd recommend, preferably that are on an offer somewhere too?

Not at all worried about the subject, just fancy getting my hands on one and building it.

    @Carlo

The sets that include power functions or pneumatics as standard tend to be the pricier sets. What you could try is the 42006 Excavator. It should be 49.99, but John Lewis are selling at 38.00 at the moment which is the best I've seen (sorry for the shameless JL plug).

It has the advantage that you can build it straight out of the box, and use the technic functions manually, and then at some point in the future (or straight away if you don't want to wait), you can buy the power functions set for about 30.00, and motorise it.

Picked up the BttF set in the Stratford store today. Seemed to be flying off the shelves.

Have you built it yet, Saint?
That bonnet is really putting me off, but it sounds like it'll work much better as the BttF2 ot BttF3 version.

After seeing this, I've just bought it for 38 from Amazon :)
