I've built both of them. They are great. Obviously the Tie has some repetition but they are fun builds and sweet models.

The guy who made the excellent burnt out Victorian houses a few years ago is back with a vengeance

I'm torn between "FUCK ME AWESOME" and "That's cheating, he just throws bricks at it until he overpowers everything"

Hmm. I have to say I'm less impressed with that than his 'dilapidated buildings' series. This just looks like someone with access to a lot of bricks, a bunch of Erik von Daniken books and a lot of spare time.

It's too overpowering. When I look at the small DIY towers I'm more impressed by the technique. He's a great builder for sure. But yeah, less is more.

If instead of one enormous piece it was split up into 10 or 15 smaller ones I think I would be more impressed.

Kid A (my oldest son) talked me into building the 8089 Wampa Cave and Snowspeeder. He didn't exactly have to twist my arm. Fun build and the snow speeder is ace. Very impressed as usual.

I do begin to understand te ae ratings on LEGO though. Kid A at nearly 3 can hardly pick the Snowspeeder up without something falling off and he has no chance of fixing it on his own.

He did play around with the set and had an awful lot of fun. Weirdly he had Wampa baking a cake in his cake for a while. Then Zev used the tow line to hook Wampa and they went flying until Wampas horn fell off..

The set now resides the firetruck from last week. High up on a shelf for two more years. But wampa got to join the other plastic animals.

Oh Christ... better put it in a box on the attic. That way it won't get dusty... but then I can't play with it after lights out...

Cheers, Khani. I'll let you know. Living in DK, I'd need Danish subs, so I think the US BluRay is out of the question. However, I'll think about it. Do you have Paypal?

If you could give me a price for order + postage to Denmark that would be great.

Would the disc work on your player? If not then perhaps we could split the cost and I could just send the minifig, which would cost less.

Did you have a look on bricklink first? Not that they are what I'd call cheap on there or anything...

I know there's a flat rate international box which costs $13. I just need to see if it would fit a DVD case. I think so. Certainly big enough to stuff poly bags and mini figs aplenty in.

Ok, so I kind of went a bit nuts and bought every Classic Lego Star Wars set from 2010 up to the latest Battle of Hoth pack.

And I may have put a bid on eBay for the Death Star...

I'll have to post some Flickr pics of my desks at work, which are now rather crowded with a small-scale Hoth and assorted vehicles and sets. I'm so happy even though I am a lot poorer :)
