Missed 5 out of our last 9 penalties apparently.

That's a lot of penalties to miss in three games

    :o)

As has been said in the Arsenal group, one minor complaint is why isn't Podolski getting a chance upfront. All this talk of needing a finisher, we've got one! We just play him out on the left for some reason.

I genuinely laughed out loud at that Scholes tackle.

    Hated, adored, never ignored.

Same. Really though, we couldn't have complained had he walked for that.

No real chance of doing damage though, just late rather than dangerous. Yellow was fair

Looked like he could have broke the other guys leg had it remained planted.

I'm obviously biased but really think the ref got both of them right. Rafael's was closer to his body and the ball was coming towards him.

Giggs was far better than anyone playing tonight and for 90 mins. Amazing. Really shows up the current quality. Great to watch that sort of stuff again.

Well Rafael's one also hit his leg first but anyway Nani and Valencia were shocking with Rooney not far behind

Didn't think Nani was too bad, rusty but nice to see a winger who can actually beat a man.

From @unitedrant - Rooney: 17/26 career pens. 65%. Average across all football is around 90%
I reckon he's done as our penalty taker. Should be well down the pecking order now.

Jack Wilshere, that was quite magnificent. Looked so at home in the no10 role and was destined to score the winner given Theo and Giroud couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

One of the best performances of the season in that second half. Absolutely wouldn't have minded losing that game if we played like that. Took me back five years.

Cracking atmosphere second half too. And only half full go figure.

Feeling much more positive about Sunday now.

To be fair to them, they both had good efforts on target that were cleared off the line God knows how!

    Shock! Horror!

Millwall fans throwing bottles onto the pitch - Lambert was ordering his Villa players off the pitch at one point, but the game has now resumed.

    Millwall now winning 2-1.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer club!

Why are both live cup games all PL ties tomorrow? At least let the lower league clubs get some TV money. Magic of the cup my arse.

Also, every Utd cup tie since 2005 has been live on TV. 38 FA Cup ties in a row. Staggering.

United seem to draw another Premier League team in almost every round, often times in a big game (City, Liverpool, etc). Here's all those televised games (not including semi-finals and finals, because they're always televised regardless):

    12/13
    Manchester United vs Fulham
West Ham United vs Manchester United

    11/12
    Liverpool vs Manchester United
    Manchester City vs Manchester United

    10/11
    Manchester United vs Arsenal
    Manchester United vs Crawley Town
    Southampton vs Manchester United
    Manchester United vs Liverpool

    09/10
    Manchester United vs Leeds United

    08/09
    Fulham vs Manchester United
    Derby County vs Manchester United
    Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur
    Southampton vs Manchester United

    07/08
    Manchester United vs Portsmouth
    Manchester United vs Arsenal
    Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur
    Aston Villa vs Manchester United

    06/07
    Middlesbrough vs Manchester United
    Manchester United vs Reading
    Manchester United vs Portsmouth
    Manchester United vs Aston Villa

    05/06
    Liverpool vs Manchester United
    Wolves vs Manchester United
    Burton Albion vs Manchester United

    04/05
    Southampton vs Manchester United
    Everton vs Manchester United
    Manchester United vs Middlesbrough

It's easy to see why many of those games were picked. Thing is, United vs. Another Premier League side is always a big game so they want to show it, and United vs. a lower league side is always a big game cause it's a lower league team (such as Burton and Crawley) vs. the biggest club in the country, so they always want to show it. You're generally going to get higher viewing figures in a United game, obviously. That's just the reasoning, and I agree that they should show some other teams for once. From a Utd perspective, it affects the attendance at Old Trafford and it means the games are always on at a different time. Other teams should get a fair share. I wonder how much influence advertisers have on it.

It's a fact that Utd pull in most viewers and therefore most ad revenue. Don't think advertisers directly influence, it's just common sense from the channels. Bit shit for those who want to see something different but there you go.

At the very least they should show the ties which are lower league vs PL. For example tomorrow Brighton vs Arsenal would be far more interesting than Utd vs Fulham or Stoke vs City (I know I'm biased but I'd say the same if it was any other PL team at Brighton).

Reading vs Sheff Utd looks a good tie, potential upset there.

Total influence. Football is about money, so whoever will bring in the highest viewers will be shown.
