Still don't think he'll get the job unless they win the champions league.
  • Deleted user 5 May 2012 23:51:51
Me too, shame really as I think he'd give chelsea a bit more credence. He's a very likeable bloke, if they'd just get rid of terry there wouldn't be much left to hate.

I find at least half of the Chelsea squad to be unlikeable. I do like Cech though, he seems really humble and modest (opposite of most footballers these days). I still feel a little sad that he joined Chelsea.

As far back as I can remember I always wanted to be a ninja.

Matteo doesn't deserve the job. He's just stepped into a couple a couple of finals

Abramovich craves sexy football and Di Matteo has parked bus after bus, albeit successfully. Big decision for Abramovich at the end of the season.

Not really. Di Matteo is only ever going to be a number 2 at a club like Chelsea. Chances of him staying on are virtually nil, unless they do win the CL by some miracle, he might consider it, but even then.

We seem to do better in the champions league when that happens

You had to laugh at the montages of recent chelsea cup wins. Same players, different managers.

    He totally called it

Played nice football at West Brom though.

DiMatteo and AVB had completely different briefs though. Had AVB been told hey just see how well we can do this season, don't change things up to much I'm sure he'd have been fine. The "project" still has to happen next season and I can't see DiMatteo being the person to do that. Plus there's a whole lot of "cool uncle" factor going on with DiMatteo. He's basically told the players they can go to bed when they want and given them a multipack of Skips. Next season he'd have to be the manager AVB was brought in to be and I just don't see that working.

He wouldn't be perfect but my money's on someone like Capello.

So I was away for the weekend and didn't see the final, is it true that Liverpool fans booed the national anthem or are people in the office taking the piss? I can't see any mention of it in the BBC match report.

    @TheSaint

Apparently so, read numerous reports of it, although I didn't see the start.

Daily Telegraph's Henry Winter on Twitter: "Chelsea fans sang the National Anthem. Many Liverpool fans didn't, even jeering it. They jeered the National Anthem. Sad."

Yeah I was at the game and the whole liverpool end was whistling when the girl started singing. They had a lot of anti sun/thatcher banners out at the time.

I don't like it when some England supporters boo opposition national anthems, Liverpool fans booing their own was even worse.

Sing or don't sing it, don't fucking boo.

    This space left intentionally blank.

Went to Hereford v Shrewsbury yesterday, fantastic game. We hammered them in the first half hour. They came back strong, but the penalty killed them off. Bowmans first was a belter.

We just got drawn against Cheltenham away for 2nd round. Financially, we really need to get through that game. Going to be harder though. Big prem tie afterwards would be perfect.

    FA CUP SECOND ROUND DRAW

    Preston North End v Gillingham
    Bury v Southend United
    Sheffield United v Port Vale
    Carlisle United v AFC Bournemouth
Crewe Alexandra vBurton Albion or Altrincham
Northampton T or Bradford City v Brentford
Luton Town or Nuneaton Town v Dorchester T or Plymouth Argyle
Alfreton Town v Gloucester City or Leyton Orient
    Oldham Athletic v Doncaster Rovers
Braintree Town or Tranmere v Chesterfield
    Rotherham United v Notts County
    Cheltenham Town v Hereford United
Guiseley or Barrow v Macclesfield Town
    Accrington Stanley v Oxford United
Lincoln City or Walsall v Mansfield Town or Slough Town
    Harrogate Town v Hastings United
Coventry City v Morecambe or Rochdale
Cambridge City or MK Dons v York City or AFC Wimbledon
    Crawley Town v Chelmsford City
    Fleetwood Town v Aldershot Town

A mate of mine is an AFC (ex Dons) fan who hates MK Dons with every fibre of his being. I dread to think how the match will affect him.

I think the world and his dog will want AFC to absolutely hammer MK Scum!! If I was an MK fan I'd actually be ashamed to turn up. I still can't believe it was allowed to happen :(

@Orange they will most probably 'batter us', it's true. However AFC will, as I understand it, fulfill the fixture that we have all been dreading and get on with staying in the football league. I for one hope that no real Dons fans turn up and that cunt Winkleman doesn't get a penny from any of us.

Most, if not all wimbledon fans hoped that this fixture would never happen but it had to eventually I suppose. I just hope there is no trouble at the game from any neutrals who think they are doing us a favour. I do know that I will never step foot in that ground despite following the old crazy gang and afc as much as possible up and down the country.

Franchise FC/MKDonalds/whatever will never be a real team in my eyes.

This was always going to happen, the football gods deemed it so. All the best to AFC.
