Just managed to activate the archers but cocked up sieging the castle in excitement. I once managed to load the catapult at the bottom too, and also instantly died. All more luck than judgement!

You're already achieving as much as I. I think I managed 68 million today, but I found the Holy Grail only once and then had a ton of multiballs. I've never completed a Knight's Tale. I've never defeated the champ or the invaders. I can probably count the number of times i've defeated the beast on my fingers. I've never completed that pathway challenge that initiates after going through the castle door. I simply cannot aim that left flipper at all and its the only table I have a problem with aiming on. I don't know why. I've racked up 40 hours on this game and can aim perfectly well on the other 3.

It really is hard to aim the left flipper with any consistency. The blue path up the right of the table is especially hard to climb. A tip for defeating the champ is to hold the ball in the mini table flippers. If you keep firing the ball it spins around in mad circles. Even with trapping the ball it's still difficult but I can usually score about 1 million against the champ.

Just realised that the game records play stats via the options - play stats menu. I have played el Dorado 77 times and 49% of times I have scored between 1 and 10 mil. Gonna check this out and post more stats later. I love stats.

Must try and get close to these scores, on Excalibur my top ten scores are all within 5 million, so frustrating I cant get two really good balls in one game. Still stuck around 60 mill I think

Must try Earth Defence, haven't played since my 70 odd mill was the top score seems i am way off the pace there now, Gotta love the end of ball bonuses on that table!

Mitch, Meep and Deez i will add your codes tonight if you care to do the same :) Buenos - 3909-7778-4988

It's good to see some healthy competition growing. I had four friends names and scores pop up during my Excalibur stint last night. As for the stats, I discovered them accidentally the other night. Didn't look into them all that much, although i'm quite the stat nut.

Get this...I'm playing Earth Defence tonight and doing great...90 million from the first ball and really in the zone. I'm very confident that I'm going to claim the number 1 score. But....then my finger slips stupidly and I lose ball 2, only scoring about 27 mil on it. So, about 117 mil total after 2 balls, not too bad, I think, still got a reasonable shot at breaking the top score. Then...I launch ball 3, it bounces strangely and drains right away down the centre. Relaunch it and it drains in less than 5 seconds...less than 100k scored on ball 3. Game over. No high score, no nothing. Bloody frustrating this game is sometimes!

That happens far too often for my liking. It's really frustrating. I find that it normally follows an unlucky bounce from the previous ball, too, which in turn makes it seem like the game just wanted to cut your score short.

I know it's probably paranioa, but I remember things like that. Too many times!

God I'm crap at this! Can't get above 11 million on Excalibur at the moment although I'm beginning to learn what things do.

Anyone else find it difficult to play long periods on this game? Maybe it's just me getting old but it hurts my hands after about half an hours play.

Only when I was using L & R to control the flippers. Try using right on the d-pad and the B button.

I'll have to try that - just using the L & R buttons at the moment. Thanks for the heads up on that one.

I'm actually used to playing with the shoulder buttons, no worries. It probably has a lot to do with using the old DS Phat and having the palms of my hands punctured by the corners of the console. If you can get used to that, cramp is nothing!

Tried using the d-pad and b buttons over the weekend and much improved. Felt a lot better and could play for a lot longer.

Starting to get the hang of the tables and got a couple of awards (no idea how though).

Does anyone know of a site that actually talks you through the tables and what to actually do whaen certain things are activated? I sort of know a few but others leave me baffled and if I try and look at the screen to tell me I generally lose the ball!

Right, knew I could clock 100 mill on excalibur eventually , 114 million on the board phew!

Included becoming the champ for the first time, and nailing the entire crossbow into the castle seige challenge, happy with that.

That's damn impressive! I honestly thought i'd be holding on to the top spot on the friends leaderboard a little longer. Clearly i'm becoming complacent.

Bah! 63 million on El Dorado. 50 million of which came from the first ball. I lost the final ball on that Mayan Bridge challenge, which i've completed so many times. I hit the blade this time, however, and the ball fell back down to the table and rolled perfectly between the flippers at the bottom. Never had that happen before. Just moments after it was telling me I set a new record and that zoolophage's score was just 9 million away. :(

Annoyingly, being my favourite table, i've discovered two glitches. Neither of which is helpful. The first involves entering the left or right tombs as soon as the third idol spits you out of its mouth. Hitting the tomb means you're stuck inside as it tries to initiate a mission, so nothing happens. Instead you come back out the tomb and find that if you try going into the tombs again, or the hole on in the top right corner of the table, below the larger tomb, you get stuck inside. About 30 seconds later the game will fire off another ball from the bottom, but the situation remains the same. You can't activate any more missions as the idols mouth remains closed and if you enter a hole you get stuck again. The only way to fix this is to lose the ball on purpose, which seems to partially reset the idol. I've had this happen 4 or 5 times now, and its just being unlucky. Often I try to trap the ball as its spat back out by the idol, but sometimes I go for a hit and find myself entering a tomb before I can see what has happened.

The second glitch, I have no idea how to trigger, but basically your ball retains the spin it gained, even if you trap the ball in a flipper momentarily. You can bring the ball to a halt, but the moment you set it off again, it'll start curling in the direction it was before you trapped it. This happened earlier tonight and resulted in the ball floating up the table and then coming back at me at twice the speed. I've also had it curl left quite dramatically, which makes things doubly difficult as you can't predict where the ball will bounce or even where you're going to aim it. It seems to remain this way until you get the ball down a hole or in the idols mouth, which becomes far more challenging for reasons stated Again, i'm not sure how this one occurs, but it has only occured a couple of times, in 40+ hours of gameplay, and thankfully never during a high scoring game.

Better luck next time on El D. I have noticed quite a few bugs on different tables. Seems like a lot of these are well known on other platforms but have never been fixed.

Congrats to deez on breaking 100 million. Can't see myself challenging on Excalibur any time soon. I really want to break Raiko's Earth Defence score, though. Tried yesterday but played really rubbish.

Go for the idols. They are the key to the high scores. Get them and hold the ball when the third idol spits you back out. This will give you time to read the challenges, which are pretty straight forward. Rinse and repeat.

Any tips on the timing required for the Mayan Challenge with spinning disks? It comes up often and I always fail the timing.

I finally figured out how to score big points on Shaman, not that it has done me much good. Tip - You want to activate the yellow, red and blue vortexes so that they're spinning simultaneously. I'm top of the friends leader board for now, but only just. My score is pathetic considering I know how to score in the millions. No doubt you guys will be racking up some seriously high scores in no time.

Yeah, I figured that out the other day too. I believe I scored 12 million in about 10 seconds. Then, as usual the rest of the game went to crap.

The Mayan challenge is tricky. You want to time you just as late as physically possible. That blade almost has to skim the ball, as you jump upward, in order to land back on the rails on the other side. Timing is as late as possible is also the safe way to go about completing the challenge. If you're too slow, you get pushed backward, rather than falling off completely, so try not to jump too soon.

Couldn't get beyond the 60 million mark on Excalibur this afternoon, after numerous attempts. I had a couple of goes at trying to complete some of the challenges, which didn't go amazingly well. They bought in some decent scores, but in the end it's the multiball that gets the job done. I managed 50 million with two multiballs, on the final ball of a very poor game. I can only imagine how many points the top players must get from that alone. The points bonuses keep on rising the longer it goes on so the scores must spike after a while.

I set a personal high score on Excalibur last night but really abused the multiball. Felt very cheap and unsatisfying. I guess it is a legitimate tactic but it spoils my enjoyment somewhat.

It does seem to unbalance the table somewhat, but i'm wondering if there is some kind of score multiplier present, for completing one of the challenges. Something that is worth working towards, to improve the average scores of the multiball. I know that by finding the Holy Grail you get an end of round multiplier, which is of some help I suppose.

The only thing I'm aware of is the jackpot increase during multiball. It goes 500, 600, 700k per shot, with super jackpot being worth triple. If I was good at multiball I could see myself scoring 300 mil plus easily.

On Excalibur, what is the procedure for starting a Tale? I can start them but am not sure how it happens.

Playing Excalibur last night two things happened for the first time for me and not quite sure how they were activated. The first was a beast appearing rather than the dragon and the second was the barrier at the top of the ramp moved opening up the opened wooden door.

Can anybody tell me how I did activate these?

Never got the chance to see what happend in either of these afterwards as I lost the balls staring at what happened!
