I'm 67% sure that I will unbox and plug in the Onesie tonight. I need to play a decent driving game after the shitfest that is NFS:R

@Fake_Blood No, sold it to fund new console purchases and to be honest after caning GT5 I'm slightly more interested in the drivatar AI and feedback triggers on the Xbox One. My PS3 and 360 were barely used this year, was pointless hanging on to them for me.

EDIT: Am assuming GT6 still has the train driver AI?

From reviews, GT6 AI is awful - rubber banding, following the line, the works.

Nice to see some new demos appearing on the Xbox One Store even if one of them is a (retch) Kinect fitness game. The other, Zoo Tycoon, proved to be interesting but more because it made me so glad I didn't fork out 45 for it. Nicely rendered animals aside, the game seemed limited, shallow and very repetitive.

Yet many reviewers have given it 8 and 9/10. I'm not quite sure why though because aside from the number of cars and tracks the series has proved to be a disappointment on the PS3 in my experience. The A.I. is pathetic, the physics are poor, damage modelling virtually non-existent and while the photo mode and replays can make the game look stunning at times, the reality is that while I'm playing it the visuals are a real mixed bag of the good (premium car models), the bad (all those horrid PS2 car models) and the ugly (screen tearing, lousy menus, terrible music, sluggish loading times, etc., etc.). Forza Motorsport 5 might lack variety in its tracks and cars and it might not have weather or dynamic lighting but it is a far superior game where it matters, i.e. simulating the driving experience. I honestly think Polyphony Digital could learn a lot of Turn 10 as they've done more with the franchise in a much shorter period of time.

PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, PC (Intel Core i7-4770K, 16 GB, 3 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780, Windows 8.1 Pro), iPad 4, iPad mini with Retina Display.

Rubber banding, yes, glued to the line, no.

Rubber banding in a game that claims to be a driving simulation is downright laughable IMO. I can understand using it in an arcade game to keep races close and competition but not a simulation!

It's one of those awful ideas that's in everything, but no-one remembers why, or dares to get rid of it.

Amazon have just offered me a 20% refund as they can't replace. If I can get MS to replace then I'm quids in.

20% of purchase price is 85 so no, I don't really care though it would be nice if they can send me a day one as that's what's so obviously missing half it's bloody body.

MS being silly. Want the controller before sending a replacement so the whole thing could take god knows how long.

Good job you found out the hard way instead of selling it, hey?

... the Xbox One keeps on giving, or at least parts of it.

20% is a bit of a result really, especially if MS replace it. The inconvenience is definitely worth some come back though so fair play Amazon.

My Day 1 pad is of significantly worse quality than my other pad. The bumpers in particular feel shoddier.

MS flat out refuse to replace in time for xmas. Have sent them pics and the receipt so will see if that shifts them. Probably not. You would have thought they would have bent over backwards to rectify such a dumbass display of poor QA, but nah...

Try contacting EG to see if they're interested in picking up on it as a story, because it's terrible QA for a retail product. I mean 'mouse in loaf of bread' bad. If not EG, there is always the resident journo, Mr. Darkmorgado, who may be interested in writing about it as a news item @ AATG.

Microsoft probably expect you to just head out and buy another controller to replace it.
