I knew as soon as I saw you said the Voodoo was PCI-E that you would get picked up on that.

Not that it matters, but I think you mean standard PCI (2.x iirc) that came before AGP. The Voodoo 5500 was AGP going from memory.
I actually meant my first AGP gfx card.

Man, it's embarrassing how much of a neckbeard I used to be :/

My first AGP card was a Riva TNT, cheap and cheerful.

I guess someone had to like PDZ. There's a guy on here that likes Tenchu Z too, and obviously, there's Vice Destroyer...

Tenchu Z is awesome! They picked the worst level in the game for the demo, and its 50 levels are the same 6 or 7 reskinned, but it's still quite enjoyable stuff. The main thing to remember is you're not an assassin tasked with only 1 target, you're a wave of silent ninja destruction picking off people one by one.

Not that I'd recommend it to anyone else, even if I do like it. Just trying to explaim why I enjoy it, that's all :)

Now we need to find a guy that likes Lair and we're done. Anyone?

I didn't totally despise Haze, think that puts me in the weirdo camp.

I like Mace: The Dark Age. Apparently it's not that strange though, as it seems to be held in respectable regard. I thought it was considered total crap.

That's vizzini, I think. Didn't he send reviewers special packs about how to review it properly, like he's doing with W101 this week?

Can't help you there, but I think I'm one of a very select few who loves the Two Worlds series!

Didn't it get acquired by Nordic when they bought THQ's properties?

    You're right, it did!

And I remember now why that doesn't stick in my head - I have absolutely no idea who/what Nordic Games are.

Never played it, so I can't help you there.

W101 is a great new gameplay experience though, so you should consider doing more playing less posting, if you haven't played it yet.

DF has a very in-depth discussion with the Xbox One architects, discussing RAM speed and GPUs.

I think from that discussion one thing is crystal clear - this system was designed by people far smarter and far more knowledgable about hardware than the neckbeards and keyboard warriors berating their choices at every available opportunity.

I though it was pretty clear the piss poor job Microsoft have done of selling the system to their core audience. If the customer does not understand what you are selling then the seller is to blame, not the customer. Simples. The way they talk about the system stinks of the same smugness that led to the disastrous online policy that was quickly abandoned.

Nor will it help them much because ultimately the games sell the system, not specs. Titanfall at launch would help massively.

At every chance they've said "look at the games"!

How else would you suggest they message it? Specs will get out, and people with a vague understanding will clumsily make conclusions. This is not something that could be avoided, and the best they could do is to get the people who best understand those choices to talk about them.

Not if you read the comments thread. Dear me...

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

That comments thread is indeed very scary. Crying fanboy when IMO there was actually some balanced journalism done. No spin put on there by DF, just reporting of what MS said about their system set up when asked if they felt it really was as underpowered as has been repeatedly reported so folk could make up their minds whether they believed them or not. Sheesh.

Not that I understood much of what it meant, but I'm sure most of the detracting voices were in the same boat.

It wasn't going to change any minds, but that's the nature of hardcore gamers on the internet. What it has done is reinforce that when I get my One I know I'll a great bit of gaming kit that does some cool additional stuff.

The fact is that the vast majority of prospective buyers didn't care about specs beforehand, and won't care about specs after this interview. They'll sell based on the games and features. And those extra features will sell them. As much as people like to take the piss out of "TV TV TV Sports", it has forced Sony to come out and say they'll also have loads of media capabilities.

I'm convinced the PS4 does have more grunt (although I can see that more GPU benefit may be throttled back by the CPU and everything else), but I don't think it makes much odds. The Xbox One will have games that look awesome - you can't deny that.

Wait - you're not actually arguing that MS have handled this well are you?

    Even they themselves admit otherwise.

Name one pure MP shooter which ever succeeded on consoles. And consider Diablo 3 being nothing but very average Diablo clone, I won't bet on this horse
    BF 1943?
