Just about I would have said. But you probably wouldn't be able to do much else, so multplie streams or DL at the same time are out.

As long as LoveFilm keep sending me one more disc to keep at home than we're paying for, and as long as we're using BT as our ISP, Netflix can gain no hold over me.

Think I'll just switch everything off.

Can you only sign up with a Facebook account? If so they can get fucked.

As long as our internet infrastructure stays like this they'll be fine.
this is true. i've only recently managed to get 6mb downstream, not sure thats enough for HD
It's plenty. I can manage 4 HD streams on my 10mb connection

Why would you need...4 streams. At once.

    Speak the truth hussy!

    Why?

Lovefilm's primary service is to send discs out. The streaming is clearly not a big deal to them hence the poor quality and selection.

The preview list looks pretty dire, who has been through what is on offer?

Find it odd they let you rent TV shows which are free on 4oD and such tbh.

I used to be a gamer like you, then I took an arrow in the knee.

Netflix don't do games. Anyway, is the stream quality really no better than the terrible arse of Lovefilm's?

4 people in my household, all wanting to watch different things.

Does anyone know if it's possible to access their catalogue i.e. to see what they have without signing up?

As far as I can tell the selection is a bit pony and the stream quality ain't great.

It's not the end of LoveFilm just yet.

In my case, it's because I'm an idiot with the mind of a sieve and I'll no doubt forget to cancel before they take the first payment.

Only really want to know if the preview on the website is at all representative, if it is, I'll not bother.

Because I'm in work and whats the point if someone who already has can answer me?

Don't think you can see the whole catalogue, but the 'highlights' on their website are anything but: https://signup.netflix.com/BrowseSelection

I will but in the future if I only want to sign up for the odd month it would be nice to see what's in the catalogue to help decide whether to sign up again.

I saw that and was thinking that that can't be their entire catalogue...if it is then it's not good at all.

If it helps, the US selection from the browse selection link is pretty crap.

I'm sure it's not crap in the US!

    Come and get it cumslingers!

The highlights look like the 1 pound section of Blockbusters.

The use of "thousands" to describe the catalogue is also concerning, tens of thousands would be less alarming.

I want this to be awesome so hopefully it is just bad marketing/advertising.
  • Deleted user 9 January 2012 14:58:34
Well at least it's forced down Lovefilm's prices so it's not all terrible.

Cheers, I'll have an eyeball later. I presume Gold is required to make it work on the Xbox like all the other stuff?

I've been a member of US netflix for about 6 months I can now access UK netflix with the same account so I wouldn't be surprised if it works both ways. If you have access to a US VPN you're laughing :)
