It's worth a watch. The plot is a bit thin, but the action is great. H

I enjoyed it, it was a pleasant enough surprise after having hated every super hero movie to date. It's amusing anyway.

Thor is good enough. I enjoyed it, it is a bit wafer thin though and not a great deal actually happens. It's really just an extended character intro for Avengers, as was Captain America.

I preferred Captain America actually. There didn't seem much "peril" in Thor as it was set either in Asgard or some hick town. Couldn't give a fuck about either :)

How's Netflix now? I wasn't too impressed at launch but currently the little one doesn't leave much time for faffing with discs...

    You dare to strike Scurrcules!?

UK one hasn't expanded that much IMO. That US version is still brilliant though.

Anyone using an Apple TV for this?

Thinking of paying for Unblock.us and having a Netflixed-up Apple TV along with my Freesat receiver to cover my TV needs.

Just wondering if it works well. I have a 6mb DSL connection and i've heard mixed reports of stuttering and whatnot with slowish connection when using Netflix on Apple TV.

Suppose i could always move either the 360 or PS3 downstairs and just use them for it as they work perfectly on the connection i have. The Apple TV interface is supposedly much nicer though.

They're all good, use whatever you want.

The interface isn't something you'll be spending a lot of time in and they're all functionally the same, so really it doesn't matter.

    Fuck it, you're right.

Might just move the PS3 downstairs and set up an Unblock account.

I use Apple TV for Netflix US. It's fucking great. Everything else I leave as UK.

There's an update on the ATV now. Will let it install tomorrow.

    Spoilt for choice on US.

You all seem to be doing the yank thing but I noticed the new Conan is on the UK for anyone interested.
  • Deleted user 17 June 2012 21:07:42
A friend watched Conan this week and he enjoyed it. Said it "embraced its silliness", so, yeah! I wasn't gonna bother but he's convinced me it's worth a watch.

Been using that for a few weeks. It's really good but is slow for browsing if you're lazy and can't be arsed to switch DNS settings all the time

Obviously this isn't a problem on devices compared to computers

Sorry to go off topic, but I'm trying to view this thread's first post and there are no links to any of the page numbers on the page! Is that a bug or am I missing something? :)

Update - sorted now, dunno why!

That's my weekend viewing sorted then. Hope that also means the UK selection is going to be brought a lot more up to date.

You've got Sky to thank for that. It'll take a while but Netflix will make in-roads but the rights for the major studios aren't up for grabs for a while I don't think.

There was mention earlier today about a new content manager being brought on board for the UK. The service is starting to die off in the States so they're very much shifting their focus to other territories (such as the UK)

It was the change to their pricing structure in the US that lost them subs, think they've arrested that now. HBO and Showtime will provide even more competition, so that might also be why they're looking outside the US as well.
