    Can't find a thread for this but it's looking pretty sweet and out now (shop to have stock and are dispatching for only £29)

    Aside from a trailer I've seen zero publicity for it. Must be hoping the film will do the business for it.

    Either that or its a stinker.

    They shouldn't have made it like that, I always thought something like TR is how a Tintin game should be made. Or Beyond Good and Evil.

    It's not a stinker; it was one of the best games at the expo. Should have mine tomorrow, Shopto dispatched yesterday afternoon.

    The game doesn't come out in the US until December, the same month the movie comes out over there. The UK and other countries are getting the movie much earlier because we know who the fuck Tintin actually is.

    Very uncharted style game play, though more side on or old school platform. Might try a demo if there is one.

    I can state with almost 100% certinty that this will not be better than Tintin on the Moon on the Amstrad.

    Not sure really, I haven't got Kinect plugged in and the "manual" is simply a small leaflet directing you to the ingame menus.

    One of the menu items is labelled "Challenges & Kinect" though, and there are some small touches I guess would be used with kinect, like turning the pages of a book for example or manipulating objects.

    No. I don't know if some of those challenges are kinect-only though (I haven't looked into that menu yet). The fact that it is specifically labelled as Kinect though makes me think it might be.

    By the way, this is very much a kid's game - the challenge is minimal and it is very insistent with holding your hand and restricting where you can and cannot go. It's a bit of a shame, as I think very often developers underestimate the ability of kids and their desire to work things out for themselves, but the sheer amount of charm wins over. It really does nail the Tintin feel.

    The graphics are lovely in the 2d sections, though in the cutscenes and the 3d areas you can see that they haven't exactly had money lavished on them (the old trick of using intersecting 2d textures for foliage instead of full 3d models is one notable example).

    The 3d bits also have a fixed camera, which is a bit annoying as it can obscure avenues you might want to explore in case there is treasure lurking.

    Really want to play this game but i'm just wondering, does it follow the film quite closely? if yes, should I watch the film first?

    @javvyman - haven't seen the film yet but been told it does. Game is a lot of fun, but as expected it is pretty easy
