I need a new online game, its pretty sad but the only game I've played in about the last 2 years is COD3 online on the 360. I enjoyed the MW series but frankly they're too fast/competitive hence about 2 years ago I reverted back to the slower (and easier) pace of COD3 online but it has to be said that getting good games is getting harder as the players are really beginning to dwindle nowadays. I like the much longer games rather than the 10min bursts you get on the likes of MW. Recent shooters are just too fast and are no fun for me. Are there any slower paced online shooters out there or are they all bonkers? Yea I'm old (39)!

    suggestions please ;)

    thanks in advance as ever.

If you've not tried Battlefield 1943 then give it at shot. Boom boom!

Sorry, just having a bit of pun.

Go for Medal of Honor. Its very quick, the weapons are excellent and its not a million miles away from COD so it wont be too hard to adjust.

You can get it for less than 5 now too.

I'm not really a battlefield fan boy but it does what your looking for quite well. Battlefield 1943, BF: BFC2 are good starting points. BF3 should be a good romp too.

1943 or Vietnam on conquest mode would be my choices.

Battlefield is great. You don't even really need ninja shooting skillz or anything because of the different classes and the vehicles and the fact that the team with the least kills can win the game if they play properly.

Battlefield is a slower paced shooter, while being quite technical at the same time. It offers a team play element that you'll not find in a CoD title.

    PSN - hyper_808

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Halo.

    Portable view - Never forget.

Battlefield games are great if you don't like the COD style fast paced games. I tried COD Blops online the other day and it was stupidly fast compared to BF3

Though I was never a huge fan of it, Section 8 always felt quite slow to be, but in a good way - if someone started shooting me I felt like I still might actually have a chance of winning if i played it smart. I never played it smart though.

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

Killzone 2 and 3, amazing graphics, slower paced than CoD, enjoyable campaigns and amazing online. It's faster than Battlefield games but slower than CoD. There's also an emphasis on team work. Also DLC is dirt cheap and there's still loads of players online.

Yes, 360 only people so top marks to BillMurray for actually paying attention, thanks for the responses so far, I downloaded the trial of Battlefield 1943 which I enjoyed for a short while until it promptly expired which was a bit poor, anyhoo it seemed OK so will download that and see how I get on as its only a tenner!

Battlefield 1943 is a good place to start, it's a lot of fun and isn't that fast paced, and it'll give you a taster for Battlefield, so you can jump into BF3 when it's out, if you enjoy 1943 :)

BF3 will be faster paced though, depending on the map. I'd probably still play 1943 the odd time if I could get others to join
