The last episode was so good. I never expected the Rubber Man to be that person.

Blatant up skirting of the Ginger maid this week (this on the FX schedule). Luckily the young version.

I am quite enjoying this. It's bollocks but seems to know it is.

I really don't understand the hate for this show.

It's varied, has some oddball characters and at least one 'WTF' moment per episode.

It's great fun trying to work out the connections and back-stories of the support characters and it has a cool title sequence.

I also don't get the Twin Peaks comparisons. Is that what you guys were really expecting?

When you can't see the angles on the wall you're in trouble.

Well, it's almost laughably cliched and derivative. It is quite fun too though, but I can see why some take issue.

I've just realised the old maid is the mum from Six Feet Under. She plays a good nutter.

How can you not like it? It's fantastic. I think for a haunted house show it's actually pretty unpredictable. I've certainly never seen the person seen differently by either sex thing before. That's awesome.
As for the upskirting. I thought you meant of the young girl. The maid thing is meant to happen to make you feel the pull she creates for men shirley?

God damn it, this show is the must entertaining thing on tv right now. Its just so much fun. Loved Mena Suvaris appearance, I had a smile on my face when I realized who was her character.

heh, they missed an opportunity to shock with that by cutting back to the old version. Young version is nice.

    Episode 3.

    This show is surreal.

    Definitely.

    They need John Cusack.

I've just spotted the dead sister from American Gothic.

Sherif Buck wouldn't have put up with any of this :-)

I've watched the first two episodes. End of the first was kinda scary, all those fast cuts in the dark and loud screams, freaky stuff. Second episode was a bit dull. So far it feels like old homages mixed with dirty personal fantasies of the writers.

Keep watching. You'll feel like you've had an anuerysm at points.

It's just get's more and more bizarre and out of control. Enjoyable if slightly trashy TV.

In some ways I think its trying to do too much. It's like a nexus for every type of horror story, a simpler approach may have been better.

That being said I am enjoying it. Nice to at least see some half decent horror on TV.

Sfill enjoying but agree it does too much. It's losing impact as a result. A slow build would be better.

Also is it just me or is Jessica Lang a total gmilf?

The silly thing is, for the most part, the individual threads are pretty good and could be exanded quite easily to something more substantial.

And yes, I think she is a bit of a gilf :-)

Season 2 details have been announced,

Im so happy that they are sticking with their decision to change the location and cast every new season.

Just watched the last episode there now and i was thinking that that would be the best way to handle the next season.

    Great news.

Hmm. It says there were clues for the new locations in the last three episodes and also there'll be more true crime. Ed Gein maybe, who know's.

Almost done with this season (episode 10), and I bloody love it. It's over the top and trashy - "ladies and gentlemen... the ham" - but it seems to take the ridiculousness in its stride and never take itself too seriously.

It isn't very scary - they pile it on so much that you can see the scares coming from a mile away - but I don't really mind. I love the characters (especially Constance and Chad), and am very much invested in how it all turns out. That's enough for me, even if they can't keep up this level of quality for another season.

Also, aside from the soapy stuff and the intentionally hammy acting, this is nothing like Twin Peaks. There are certain similarities, but saying that this is "a bad version of TP" is a misunderstanding of and a disservice to both shows.

Re: Ep 10's WTF moment If Violet died when she took the pills (well played AHS, bravo, I never guessed!), why's the father talking up a woman's achievements, assumed to BE of Violet on the phone. Is he suffering some kind of break/delusions!? But, then again, it comes to light that she's not been attending School
...Excellent stuff, is this show. Surprising, new, entertaining. I'm glad I started to see it and went with my gut, despite past cancellations of promising series by the networks. :)

aww. I wanted the set on disc, but Ama has it down for a mid-October Blu/DVD release. I hope they use the time to include some good extras and present the entirety in good quality, at least, but I thought it might be sooner than that, somehow. :(
