I really don't think anybody said PS3 to be more powerful than the 360.

Apart from Sony, obv, who would say that. And stopped saying that as soon as it was released and it became clear that it wasn't.
Well what happened was it was all down to theoretical power, that is why it has been so murky... multiplats giving the 360 one argument, the first party output giving Sony another.

Now, the two things are practically identical, except the PS4 has the higher grade internals. I'm not sure how much more clear it can be when you look at things side by side on an even footing.

Plus Sony show great support for their previous console once the new one comes out a year or two after, MS kills theirs off after 6 months.

    You better watch out.
    You better beware.

The fact that I would rather go for the console that is showing more technical promise is bizarre.

    Sure.
The PS4 and Xbox One are based on the very similar hardware from the same manufacturer, to say the system that's has weaker specs has more technical promise when most of the stuff shown has been on dev kits or fudged hardware is bizarre!
    Or that.

Basic understanding is that they're PC hardware with slightly different interfaces & the PS4 has more GPU cores than the XB1. That's fewer of the same type of cores, not debatable.

It also costs £100 more. For less powerful hardware.

I'm lost mate, PS4 looks decent, NextBox obviously more powerful, just don't know any more. Is it worth checking with Vizzini, as he is more technical?

So they've backtracked again? I was actually happy to get the X1 port instead of Ethernet.

The Wii U has three Ethernet ports and it's not sharing.

Wireless is for casuals. Wired is unbeatable for latency and security.

Built-in wifi and no ethernet port on the Wii should prove that to anyone!

All the talk of the X1 GPU of unknown clock getting a 53Mhz boosts has made me consider the performance versus reliability and noise stakes for next-gen.

It is pretty inevitable I'll be an early adopter again, so feck it. I hope they overclock the crap out of both systems before launch; X1 up to 2teraflop and PS4 up to 2.6teraflop and I'll buy a new silent reliable slim edition for £200 to replace the broken ones in 2016.

Console generations are too long for hardware as graphically weak as these consoles, so they might as well turn it up to 11 on the dial to benefit the generation.

    @PenguinJim

Get with the times. Kinect, Gaikai, Remote Play, Azure. Latency is cool.

I'm going PS4, because I've preferred the 1st party titles on PS. It's all about the games, not the hardware...

However, being (possibly the only on this forum) a huge fan of motion controlled games, I'll wait to see what Kinect 2 is like and might get an Xbox down the road.

No, I love Kinect too! I'll definitely get Xbox One, but I'll probably get PS4 first. I'm waiting until 2014 anyway. I'll let these suckas test the hardware first.

I will get both obviously. Im a gamer through and through. I can't just have one and be happy. I need both.

But im getting the PS4 launch day and i will wait for a few months at least before picking up an xbox one. I aint paying £450 notes for one thats for sure. Hopefully we will see a price cut within the first 6 months.

I'm not an early adopter but will only buy one next gen, the multiplats and similar hardware make it Hobson's choice so I'll bide my time before I decide.

X1 means Xbox One port silly.

So of course the X1 has a port. I think Sony license it as well, hence the name.

I'm looking at the comment section of the PS4 controller price/ colour and their all going oh look pretty colours.

When the X1 controller was announced they all went bat shit crazy about the price. Well the PS4 controller price is just as retarded.

Every comment complaining about the price has a negative rating as well.

It basically confirms that the comment sections are full of sony loving tards.

Just thought I'd share that revelation

I've already forgotten how much the XB1 controller is. I assume it's the cheaper of the two?

Edit - The PS4 pad looks like something a third party would have thrown out for the PS1/PS2 back in the day. Saying that, i'm quite liking it in red. Doesn't look anywhere near as sleek as the XB1 pad though!
