If Dead Rising is an exclusive then that's definitely going to sway me, the original was one of the reasons I got a 360.

Hopefully with the extra grunt of the consoles we'll get split screen co-op. :)

It's just a clunky zombie hitting game.

Never understood the hype, bought the two Live Arcade spin-offs and found them both to be a chore.

Wonder what celeb will be there? Justin Bieber? Nikki Minaj?

    Why, are they your favourites?

The second arcade spin-off, Case West, was pretty crap and cost twice as much as Case Zero for some reason. Case Zero was a pretty good micro version of the main games though.

They're clunky, awkward games with poor writing and ridiculous weapons, but I can't help but love them. They remind me of all the shitty zombie movies I've watched and loved over the years.

Plus sometimes you just want to relax by running over zombies with a lawnmower.

Dead Rising was the game that made me buy an Xbox. And despite it's obvious shortcomings I love all the games in the series. Wouldn't make me buy one system over the other though.

At this stage if the 720/infinity/whatever has backwards compatibility that will probably make my choice for me.

@Syrette Yeah tampon, they are. I was hoping we could use Kinect together and grease ourselves up real nice for the reveal.

    You in, Tampon?

If there's loads of sequels of the games I already have then that's the next gen console I'm getting. Anyone playing the new IP or original game card can fuck right off.

Dead Rising was certainly a sign of what the 360 could do, I don't think DR2 worked quite so well as it was a bit too similar and the load times were terrible but a next gen DR3 could be pretty impressive with much upgraded hardware.

I finally managed to get hold a 360 a month before GRAW came out (huge fan of the Ghost Recon series on the original Xbox) so that was my system seller.

However I'd say the game that had me going "holy shit", keep in mind I was and still am a PC gamer at heart so not easily impressed by consoles usually, was seeing Fight Night Round 3.

It still looks pretty great all these years later.

    @MrTomFTW

despite not playing it, thats the impression i got from watching it and being an envious ps3 owner.

The graphics weren't great, but i think the sheer volume of stuff on screen and picking up frying pans or what ever you wanted (seemingly) just screamed this is next gen for me!

Dead Rising is why I got a 360, the game had it flaws but it was amazing with the amount of zombies on screen. Sadly there was some gamers who expected to get far with a pistol, a cookie and baton. The thought you had to get better weapons seemed alien to them. It didn't help some bosses where a bit cheap like the one in the gun shop

My first game was Dirt, that sold me on the next gen. Really enjoyed it, looked great. Not exactly a next gen title in all means but it looks and played well.

I bought a PS3 because I wanted to finally play GTA with framerates better than dreadful.

And then I played GTA 4.

I'm still somewhat anxious the same will happen with next gen.

edit: oh, and because I wanted to play GT5, which certainly would come out soon.

Yeah. I can't see Valve getting into bed with MS. Maybe they'll just waiting to see what the competition'll be before they show their hand..?

If Gabe appears on the MS stage saying why he's excited about Windows 8 on a console, I'll throw a big party for everyone.

If he does that, I shall rip my xbox from it's perch, cables and all, and tie it to the lampost outside my house with a notice inviting dog owners to have their pets piss all over it. I shall throw my Valve discs at any hound who fails to piss.

Valve and Microsoft? No. No no no.

It makes too much sense for either party not to be interested, Xbox competes with pc the same way that ford competes with Ferrari, Microsoft wants everyone to own a PC and an Xbox, steam wants a way into the livingroom.

Don't get me wrong, it won't happen, but there are a lot more reasons for it than against

@DrStrangelove always does with console GTA games. The ambition always overpowers them

@Spunkweazle Microsoft trying to use Xbox to sell windows 8 will be effectively the same gamble Sony took by gambling ps3 against Blu Ray. It cost them millions of sales and many millions of pounds.
