Portable view - Never forget.

|4 player Kinect? No problem. We all live in giant warehouses like in the adverts.|
The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

So, what do people expect controller-wise?|
An advanced Kinect is a given but what about "traditional" controllers.
Wii-U aping controllers with a screen?
Motion controller/pad hybrid?
XBL : ecosse011172
PSN : ecosse_011172
NNID : armoured_bear
It would be a bit boring if they didn't do something with it but almost perfect..d-pad blah blah. They have Kinect, Smartglass, standard controller. Do they join all three in some way or keep them separate. |
Not going to dump core game experiences like Nintendo would with a weird controller that is for sure. I think whatever happens, it will be a nice surprise when you think they will just do more of the same only better and show something unexpected.
Only thing that springs to mind is Kinect 2.0 recognising the new controller for some game functionality.

The Steambox is going to assfuck all the next gen consoles. |
A library of thousands of games at cut prices on day one vs. Assassins Creed 4 or some shite as a launch title?
Bye bye €50 games.
Look at the frontpage of Steam now. Look at the "deals" on XBL or PSN, utterly fucked. The future of PC gaming is a console made by Valve. Hilarious.

spudsbuckley wrote:You mean the library of games that people could already play on a Windows PC if they really wanted to? I don't see how a box of Steam is going to stop people buying consoles, most buy consoles for the simplicity of buying a game and playing it immediately.

MMMarmite wrote:They reckon the Steambox will cost about €300-350 because it's an off-the-shelf i7 with 8gb of RAM, a 500gb HDD and a decent GPU. New consoles will cost more.
Big picture mode + cheap games + no sub for online services = traditional consoles in serious shit if they can't produce something amazing.
People want to play new games, though, which means they will buy the console that gives them AC4 - not the one that gives them a 5-year-old game at a discounted price that they already played.|

Next xbox spec has supposedly leaked... and it's looking pretty meaty.|
Custom ATI 8800 GPU,
Windows 8 OS kernel
Pinch of salt... but we should be seeing some fantastic looking games if that's anywhere near true.
Problem with steambox is that all the kids want to play FIFA and COD on the Xbox with their friends.|
They don't want to play cheap £2.99 steam games like us oldies. And FIFA will probably not be on steambox.
|How many wiis taped together is that?|

|Nevermind the specs, tell me about the rasterisation.|
oceanmotion wrote:Vs ridiculous expectations? Meh. It's basically a high end PC (but not a top end one). Will all come down to how good the ram is and just how clever the custom GPU is.
