    Free consoles? Wow. Not bad.

I'm expecting a follow-up story as those guys are bullied and abused horribly for a) being disabled b) getting free PS4s and c) being perceived as anti-Microsoft.

Wow. If there is one thing to be said of the last several months it is that Sony have gone out of their way to accommodate players and do what they can to make the user base happy. While ms has taken the utter piss, dreamt up horrendous ideas, such bloody stupid ideas that they get praised for backing down on them.

Well, pre orders for both cancelled due to being majorly unimpressed by some fairly mediocre looking launch games.  Apart from Titanfall which looks lots of fun but rather kindly, they saw fit to release it on PC where it will run and look better anyway, so at least they have sold me a game.

    My thoughts, um, almost exactly.

Titanfall also looks like the most appealing next gen game to me, and luckily I can play it on the PC ;)

That's followed by KI, Forza, DR3 and Crimson Dragon.

I got pulled into the hype for the PS4 at one point, and it does look like a nice machine, but I realised there is not one single PS4 exlusive that looks remotely appealing to me.

They'll come in due time obviously, as they did for the PS3, but right now there is nothing on it even vaguely compelling for me.

Still getting a PS4, but launch lineup could have done with a meaty RPG , feck FPS

Think I'll hold off on any next gen until Fallout 4 comes out.

Pretty sick of FPS and po faced driving games. BF4 beta mostly left me cold. Even Titanfall doesn't excite the way these things used to. Both Drive Club and Forza look about as much fun as having my eyeballs pulled from my head with a spoon. NFS, of which I have seen no footage, at least sounds fun. As for Resogun - Ikaruga coming to Steam, that's all I need to put me into shooter heaven. Indie games? PC drowning in them and the vast majority are 2 minute wonders.

I think that I could wait for the PS4, as there are no must-haves at launch. Same is true of the xbone for me.

Will still get a PS4 at launch but with more games coming on current-gen that interest (south park and Dark Souls 2) I can't see why I am so hyped for another console.

I think come closer to the time, more people will give into the shiny shiny.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

I’ll pick a PS4 up but will probably wait till early next year.
I like the controller in the hand and the machine looks nice but the initial games are underwhelming.
The upcoming titles on Wii U, PC and to a lesser extent PS3 seem far more interesting.

Infamous: Second Son looks like the first ‘must have’ for me…

Ah haven't tried it on my PC yet. I assume it will look better on my PC when the full game is out.

    Come and get it cumslingers!

Think it will be a PS4 for me -eventually. Really dislike the direction MS are going in. Yes, they have more games, but they all look forgettable really. Not a huge fan of all the ads on their UI either.

GTA V is the perfect reason not to worry myself about getting a launch day Xbox. Can't see myself running out of 360 goodness for a good few months.

@LeoliansBro It's cool if you like buggy games that run frequently around 20fps.

Youre right. With PS+ and steam sales/humble bundles, im probably looking at picking up a PS4 when production of the PS3 ceases.

Ive only just started playing Dead Space 3 and that was only after a toss up between Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider and Spec Ops.

Surprisingly, I enjoyed Spec Ops most out of all of those.

I'll forgive it a lot more for the sheer size and scope of the thing. Too many supposed 'AAA' releases are trite and oversimple and can be competed in a few hours, and let's not get into giving decade old games a lick of paint and thinking the gaming public will pay £50 for them.

If all you want is a bug free game with a stable framerate there are thousands of Tetris clones you can download for free. I ask a little more of my purchases.

So do I, which is why my GTA5 is heading to CEX today and I'll play it eventually on the PC where it will be just as buggy, but at least won't make me want to scratch my eyes with a fork.

Yeah, i know Spec Ops is well thought of but im a big fan of dead space.

But, yeah, this is going to be the thing for me for a while yet. To have half a dozen AAA games just sat on my hard drive, unplayed, having cost me the price of a cup of coffee is just madness.

its got to the point that the thought of paying full price for a game makes my brain hurt.

Totally agree, the line up for both consoles seems strong but really unimaginative, nothing grabs me. I had pre-ordered and it got screwed up, but on reflection I can't see a compelling reason to upgrade yet: the current gen has what ought to be great stuff coming up (Batman, Beyond Two Souls, Tearaway).

Also there is some sense in waiting to see if minor revisions get made to early models.

And yet, I keep checking availability of PS4 at launch... just the attraction of a new shiny toy.
