Interesting piece on the BBC website today, sounds OK actually but time will tell. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-41003075 There'd better be some hotties too.

Never watched it before because I don't really like Mel and Sue but do rather like Noel so gave it a try with Mrs Ork. Little Ork came down 5 minutes in asking to have a late night and as it's fairly innocuous we let him watch too. It was all very twee and we all rather enjoyed it.

Some really great cakes tonight, should be good this year.

Have to admit, while Mary, Mel and Sue have gone...it's still bake off. Certainly think they handled the moved well and got good replacements in, even the way C4 split out the ads is cool and fits. Bring on bread week!

I enjoyed it, I'll keep watching. I also didn't like Mel and Sue so they're no great loss.

Noel is great, but I've always been a fan. Prue feels a bit like a Poundland Mary Berry though, she was the only part that really felt off to me.

And I found the ad breaks to be quite annoying, it breaks up the flow even if they are as well placed as they could be.

Dropped 4m viewers from the last series' figures of 10.5m, still the most watched show on C4 in 5 years

Pru (however you spell her name) just talked rubbish. If you boil alcohol, you don't "lose it all". Even boiling for a couple of hours, you still have alcohol left, never mind the few minutes they'll do on this.

Starting to pick the ones we want off next. We also think the old lady should have subtitles as we can't understand half of what she's saying.

I was thinking Sandi was a bit crap myself, but the jokes they do together are cringy.

It's only the second episode, it might take them a while to find their groove.

Noel is good, and his innuendo is top drawer to be fair.

It was the moment he jammed his fingers into the traditionally coloured fondant fancies and yelled "ONE IN THE PINK, ONE IN THE STINK" and then upper deckered one of the fancy mixing bowls that I thought he was maybe trying a little too hard.
