Is he gay? The chap wore a bright orange top to match his Clementine and chestnut torte.

He's colour coordinating his clothing with his baked goods.

    He's super gay.

He's my favourite to win but the nerd is going to win I think. Hollywood has a hard on for him.

Glad I'm not the only one here who has this as a guilty TV secret. The wife and I watch it each week.

    It always makes me hungry.

It always inspires me to bake something tasty until I remember how much of a fiddly, pain in the arse faff baking is.

With cooking you can generally get away with a extra slosh of wine here, an extra pinch of something there or leave it in a bit longer if you want it with a bit more colour but baking is far to exact a science for me to cope with.

That's the only way I can cook! Put it in the oven for 22mins 38secs at 183.6 degrees ftw!
If the instructions are too ambiguous I just think fuck it I can't be arsed :)

I'd be pretty amazed if the Scottish indie kid with the glasses didn't win it. He had a little bit of an off week this time out, but he's been super-consistent for the rest of it ("consistent in patches", as Theo Walcott would say) and quite clearly some way ahead of the rest of them in terms of his ability and inventiveness.

I burst out laughing at the last guy's meringue effort (I think he was knocked out this week too). All the rest had really ornate decoration and his looked like a Baked Alaska.

Just caught up with this last night. Thought Brendan's 70s inspired torte looked amazing! No surprises he was star baker and no surprises at the one kicked out - they didn't even bother showing the deliberation.

Still not sure who I want to win... It's about the baking though, *not* the knitwear Sue.

Get back to your skinny men in lycra and leave the baking to the real men.

I don't think the cycling thread actually contains many skinny men. :-)
    Probably plenty of lycra though.

Aww, gutted for Catherine. If that peanut butter pie had tasted at all good, she'd have got star baker I reckon. Still, Ryan deserves it too.

Pissed off that we're losing Manisha though. Manisha getting in a flap was one of the best bits of the show.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Definitely felt bummed out for Cathryn. Think it's about time she's gotten the star baker, plus I wanna marry her.

I wanna too! Always family letting you down eh? That pie looked frackin amazeballs but she had to listen to a American relative and ruin it with peanut butter?!! TBF they love peanut butter.... and I don't think it actually would have tasted that bad.

On another note... they don't like alcohol in the bakes do they? Always gets a bad review! I reckon that Holiday bloke is T-Total!

Why does Catherine always look like she's about to burst into tears? She's becoming more unhinged as the bake-off progresses.

Considering how much he'd f***ed up just about everything else, the fact that Ryan stayed in let alone made star baker was a miracle. Especially when he messed up that Key Lime Pie pastry first time around...

It's all about consistency for now though, then whoever blows them away in the final. Ryan won't make it, nor will Danni. Cat, Brendan and John for the final?

You sure you don't mean Danni? She definitely looked ready to break down on one or two occasions...

Why did she mix peanut butter with sweet potato and ruin what could have been a massive pie-sized Reese's Cup?

Sweet potato and peanut butter mix just sounds rank.

I thought the pudding on converse incident was dramatic.

It was a pretty grim episode all round. Nice to ramp up the tension for next week with a double elimination.

    Blooooooooooood gloooooooooooooove....

    :)

    Same here!

The dropped/collapsing puddings incident from Danni was quite funny too. I thought she was going to collapse into a total flood of tears then.
