I guess it would be more "Brendan" than "John / James" in structure so might go for something a bit more ambitious!

Katamari would be kinda easy, you could just make gingerbread... things.. of various types and sizes, and just glue everything together in a big ball

Suggest different categories for "made from scratch" vs "prefab" creations.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Prefab doesn't guarantee a Good Bake though eh.

Hey, it was Pete & Vortex going on about prefabs. I don't do gingerbread. There was a childhood incident. I can't go into details due to the court conditions, but suffice it to say I'm not allowed to see H again or return to The Forest. That witch got what was coming to her though.

    Shit, I've said too much.

I'm going prefab. I think, for fairness, we should all use the ikea kit as a base and go from there.

Thats a big enough ball ache as it is without baking the stuff.

    He totally called it

I say let's just make it a free for all, with the only condition being that it all has to be edible. ie, no balsa wood, superglue, mechano, cardboard, steel rebar concrete etc.

Yeah, given the elitism in this place, I'm pretty sure prefabs will get given pretty short shrift.

Just to clarify, can we use straws and cardboard tubes to reinforce structures internally? I mean, the professionals do it so we can't we!

Go prefab by all means, but surely you can't expect to win if your house looks exactly like the spec on the packet. It's not too much of a hardship to trick that shit up with a packet of Haribo is it.

No that is cheating. Use candy sticks or something. 100% edible.

Hang on a mo. It's all very well building your laa-de-daa gingerbread structures, but the other main issue should be flavour.

I say you should all send me some of your structure and I will judge on flavour!

Two separate scores, each marked out of 10 for presentation AND flavour!

I said flavour too many times.

I liked it when he almost cried. Then didn't cry. Then almost cried again. Then didn't cry again. Then almost cried one more time. But didn't.

    Beautiful tender beings.

Also, are you a grown up? I'm concerned about the risks in posting sweeties to children given the current climate.

I've missed the last two or three weeks of this. Is there any episodes left this series?

In my defence, I said it'd be prefab if our family baking expert couldn't be arsed with it. If it's down to my son & I it'd be a disaster. If the missus is interested we'll probably try a 'from scratch' effort.

She also has the arts & crafts skills, I have zero artistic ability.  :(

Tits! I totally forgot about the gingerbread house. Oh well.

I made bread, cupcakes, brownies, and lemon drizzle cake this weekend. Probably the least masculine weekend I have ever had.

What's Kirsty from Newsnight doing on GBBO? I know it's a very light hearted 'competition' but shes a bit too good really.

Also, I wish Bob Mortimer was on everything.
