Was there ever a release of an official soundtrack on CD? I can only find it on LP.
Failing that I really should just get hold of each track on mp3. The film has some great songs on it.

You cannot stop me with paramecium alone!

    City of God
    Assassination of Jesse James...
    Oh Brother Where Art Thou
    Inception
Dirty Harry (and most Lalo Schifrin)
    Out of Sight
    Twin Peaks FWWM

I've created a playlist of film soundtracks (including some of the earlier recommendations from this thread). Have a listen: Spotify soundtracks list

I second O Brother Where Art Thou. I also suggest:

    Deathproof
    Welcome to Colinwood - nice French-style folky-jazz
Pineapple Express - odd mix of 80s and 90s pop with some jazz thrown in for good measure
Broken Flowers - hadn't seen much of the film but found the music to really stand out (which doesn't say much about the film really)
Akira - excellent to listen when driving down the motorway!

Agreed, in fact everything Clint Mansell does is incredible. His Sahara OST is indiana bondtastic.

It took 3 pages for someone to mention:

    The Harder they Come

That is a great sound track, and I generally hate most reggae!

The Village by James Newton Howard. Especially the violin. YouTube The Gravel Road, standout track.

Come listen to us discuss the Playstation Experience in Episode 11 of Open Source. zoolophage writes in!
