I clicked on this expecting some kind of combined porn and contact lenses spam.

There's no way to answer this without knowing what kind of games you like, but I'm heading right for BF3 \o/

Hello Bonesy, welcome to the site.

I can't help with your query as I am also a Expo virgin but it's nice to know I wont be alone.
I'm sure you'll recieve many replies from people in the know and if your really lucky some of them might even be helpful.

    All the best.

Yeah Guild Wars is a must see for me. Mainly due to the fact it doesn't have a release date yet.

I will only be going to the Expo in the hope of meeting some of the forum luminaries. The thought of seeing some new games is just an added bonus.

Not as nice as I used to be

The bar. Everything else, you'll make your way round and get through it easily I guess.
The venue's pretty decent, just make a note of where the loos/bars are and look out for a few big overhanging signs to use as points of navigational reference.

Also, have something to eat before you go in (or nab a sandwich en route); the last few times I've been there they've had food inside (I think it was a Pizza Express among other places) but the prices were absolutely ridiculous.

    I'm a grumpy bastard.

    Don't! Its a trap!
Every year people go missing from the Expo and end up in Craigy's Code Dungeon. You've seen Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom? well its like that in Craigy's code dungeon, thousands of teenagers churning out the code for the EG group websites.

It is customary to dress in your favourite video games character attire, on your first visit. There is actually a competition with first prize being a PSVita (when released in Europe) for the best “Cosplay Costume” last year the winner was Foreverafternothing dressed as Pikachu.

It has to be cosplaying as Nathan Drake or his lady friend, whatsherface.

My first expo at earls court, went to one in one of the earlier smaller venues, which was nice. Spent a lot of time in the Modern Warfare booth i seem to recall. Left 4 Dead was very popular that year, although i didnt have a go, i like to watch (oo er)

also FIFA is fun, sitting around taking on randoms
