Last night, the snow around here finally started to melt after a good five days of treachery. Then it snows like a motherfucker again overnight. And now the five day forecast is saying we're in for daily highs of 18f for the next few days. That's minus 8 in centigrade. Joy.

It's unseasonably warm for the foreseeable future here.

John Bishop isn't that bad. I don't like him, but I can see how some people would. He's got a kind of "end of the pier" thing going on. A bit naff, but I can see where he's going with it.

Mrs Brown's Boys is reprehensible. I can't see how you can enjoy that without some form of severe brain injury. I'm genuinely astounded it has an audience.

If you start spouting temperatures in F, your journey to the dark side will truly be complete.

Apparently we're having snow later this week.

I still convert to C in my head (or using google if I can't be arsed to think). But partially when I say "high of nineteen" it sounds like it won't be too bad, whereas "high of minus seven" sounds like Ragnarok.

John Bishop had one semi decent stand up show and literally every single thing he's done after that has been shit. The success of Mrs Browns Boys doesn't surprise me in the slightest. If shit like My Family can be popular then anything can.

Bishop is another one of those comedians that has the odd decent gag and has subsequently infested everything comedy related on TV. See also: Sarah Millican (sp?) who to my knowledge has only made jokes about how fat she is. Ha! Look! She's calling herself a chubber again! Ha fucking ha.

My Family is about as amusing as razor riddled bowel obstruction, but Mrs. Brown's Boys is possibly the worst thing I have ever seen. I lost all faith in the visual medium and refused to look at anything for 17 minutes after catching a glimpse of it.

Sarah Millican does do a lot of self deprecating fat jokes, but she is quite quick-witted when you see her in action, and is quite likeable as a kind of anecdote driven kind of stand-up. Better than say what Jo Brand used to do which was jokes about being fat and ugly and *literally* nothing else.

Lucy Porter, now there's a crap one-joke act. "ooh look! I'm all girly and cute. But I rememberer once I had a wank!" is pretty much her material.

Sarah Millican is fucking awful. Also that some people have mentioned her in the "Secret Crushes" thread actually makes me feel sick.

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.

Yeah I've actually been to see Sarah Millican, she's actually a pretty good stand up.

If there's one thing I'm grateful for in British comedy, it's that Andy Parsons has failed to spread.

Frankie Boyle, Russell Howard, Hugh Dennis. All found there way off that shit, but he's stuck there.

It's weird how pretty much every Mock The Week regular is a fucking awful comedian, yet Dara O'Brien is still funny. Hosts are immune from the talent vacuum effect it seems.

I've got phone interview with a very big American company in an hour and I'm feeling nervous. If all goes well I could be moving to San Francisco. My brain is being very slow today.

If he's moving to San Francisco, thinking about cock might not be a bad idea.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

I realised that spotify had comedy albums on it today (i know, duh) and spent the morning listening to Doug Stanhope.

The bit he does when he says 'I like calling a guy a cunt. It kind of throws them off their game and confuses them. Its like calling a redneck a nigger' I actually lold in the office. One of those lols you try to stifle so it makes your eyes run.

The piece of advice I was given about important phone calls that I thought was good, is to stand up when you take it, and even walk about. Keeps you from going docile. Might help!

I used to listen to Doug Stanhope on my ipod when I had to go to London for work. Kept me sane, but probably made me appear (more) crazy. The routine about suicide on "From Across the Street" and the one about the difference between extreme sports and extreme drug taking both consistently crack me up. Mocaine :D

Yeah, pacing about is supposed to be great for speaking. It's why the best presentations and standups usually have them wandering around the stage like they're on some mystical journey to nowhere. The movement supposedly creates fluidity of thought.

Have a relaxing wank while you chat. Unless it is a Skype call.

Aren't you supposed to not go to the loo before a big presentation / interview - to appear more focussed? Probably helps with the pacing too.

I took a support call once where the guy paused, there was an audible splash and then, eventually, a toilet flush, the dirty fucker.

I could think of nothing worse than trying to get my point across while needing a piss/shit. I'd be focused allright, but not on what I should be

He must have logged the call.
