    Haven't actually watched any TV programmes apart from the F1 for months.

    The TV has been serving its proper use as a screen for gaming, a part-time PC monitor and something to use to watch films.

    Thing is I've installed fuck all on this phone other than the official Xbox, Kindle and Steam apps and some game that I can't remember the name of because I deleted it... Some cross between an RPG and Tetris (it was the EG app of the day on the day I got my phone).

    I get these txts too and I'm registered on the telephone preference system thing. I never send them STOP messages though because I'm worried it is a scam & I'll get hit with a premium rate.

    I sent them a STOP message once. That was because it was an insurance claim one wondering if I wanted to claim for a car accident I'd had. I didn't feel like claiming compensation seeing as I'd hit a stone wall, which hadn't jumped into the path of the car, which was travelling so slowly, I had time to warn the occupants of the impending impact.

    I thought the insurers had passed on my details to a legitimate yet shitty claims management company. It seems it was a shitty scammy claims type "company" who now think my name is Nicola.

    I've got something called Lookout Ad Network detector installed on mine, which managed to locate the offending app (live wallpaper) when I got spam in my notification bar. Free, simple and seems to do the job without any fuss.

    Edit: Only seems to work for ads though I think, not sure about text messages. But there are other apps around that can sort that out.

    Cheers. Got AirPush Detector which sorts out random ads in the notification bar but will do some digging on texts. I just blacklist them at the mo.

    I got a load of gumf from a free piano app I installed. Kept putting spam shortcuts onto the homepage. Nothing like this would have happened on an iPhone, no siree.

    So...

    Basically, I have a brochure for a kitchen company. I noticed there's a web address on the back of all their fancy new brochures, however a quick check shows the domain hasn't been registered yet. The inner-asshole in me wants to take it. Opinions?

    Update: Just looked it up, .ie domain name registration is very strict. So not worth the effort.

    You'd have probably been made to hand it over anyway, if taken to court. The days of registering a domain to screw a company are long gone.
