Hi.This is a tricky one and any help would be appreciated.I have been lent a ps3 but my mate didnt bring any controllers.I have just plugged it in and it says "An available HDMI device was detected. Do you want to output video and audio using HDMI? Yes No Press the PS button to use the controller.

This is where the problem lay..I have 2 controllers from my old ps3 and obviously I cannot click anything let alone Yes as they are not the controllers that came with that particular PS3. Is there any way I can bypass this and go to the settings menu and configure the controllers using one of the controllers that I still have or will I have to wait for my mate to bring a controller to my home to be able to use the ps3 properly?
    Any help greatly appreciated..

You need to plug the controller in with a USB cable for it to sync, then you'll be good to go. You MIGHT even be able to use a USB keyboard if that doesn't work, but don't hold me to that...

Plug your pad into the PS3 with a usb cable. Hold the PS button on the pad down. Stop mucking around. Done

Have tried that and its still not working..it seems the only way I can click on anything is by using the wireless keyboard. The lights on the controller are all flashing albeit not very fast and when I hold the PS button down...absolutely nothing happens..unless I turn on the keyboard..any other bright ideas?

You'd have thought. On the wii you can pair or temp, press the red for permanent or 1 & 2 for temp when you round a friends.

Peeps don't get it, It's not obvious, but I've no idea why you wouldn't try it. Phage'll know I'm sure.

Yeah, you have to do that every time you use it on a different PS3 or computer.

Try plugging in a 360 controller! lol ps pads are painful to use anyway, just sell it and get a superior xbox, you wont regret it.
No, just get an Atari 2600 and play space invaders.
