@dominalien You're still in work at quarter to eight? Yipes, what a long day!|
Hopefully Episode 3 will be out next week. I will be ready just in case.

It's quarter to nine over here, but I only started 2 hours ago, so it's all good. Not more than 30 minutes to go, either.
For some reason, I haven't been able to do any of the previous episodes in one sitting. I took about three evenings over the course of a week for each. They're surprisingly long!
@dominalien Oh, I see. That's not too bad then. |
I did Episode 1 in one session, but with lots of pausing for breaks (including helping to assemble a chest of drawers). I had assumed it would be shorter than it was, which was partly why I kept going. Looking forward to starting Episode 2, anyway.

|My saves for this game keep disappearing (xbox 360). Already restarted from scratch and they disappeared again|
|My saves from 1 and 2 have vanished too. Now it seems i cant save it at all. Im 360 too. Patch please.|

I'm getting a bit possessive of Clem (which probably says very bad things about my personality ), I especially wasn't a fan of leaving her with the new woman. Something tells me she's going to try and take Clem at some point.

@Mike1980 - I also wanted to give Ben a break but every conversation option I chose was insulting him, which is annoying as it wasn't what I intended. Some of them were a bit la noire esque (how the character reacts is not what the conversation option suggests). The only good thing I could say to him was to tell him about my murdering past|
Overall I really enjoyed it, and judging by the stats for the options at the end the decisions you had to make were less obvious than in episode 2
Just completed Ep 2. Outstanding stuff.|
I was gripped during the "reveal" near the end of it. spoilers DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE EP2 I honestly thought I was going to save Larry when his heart stopped, Kenny just dropping that saltlick on his head was horrific! Also kind of gutted Clem witnessed me kill Danny. I find I'm using her as a moral compass in most of my decisions.
I'm also already thinking how certain scenarios would have played out if I hadn't of saved certain people.
I'm off to Majorca tomorrow so Ep 3 will have to wait, going to look forward to it though.
Goat is hungry.....
|Can't wait for the third season of Walking Dead... BRAINS.... hahaha|
I think Episode 3 was great, kinda slow, but in a good way I think, I'm not going to look at Clementine the same way ever again, ever, never ever ever again. Seriously game, TellTale, why did you have to show me that? I totally panicked and freaked out, damn it Lee, stupid dreams, and fucking Kenny.|
I dislike the guy due to him being a bitch in episode 2, then I like him hes all cool and stuff, then hes a douchebag, then he helps you out, then he mocks you, then he says shit about you, then hes all cool again and nice, then hes a goddamn idiot, THEN HE FUCKING THINKS ABOUT LEAVING YOU TO THE ZOMBIES at the store for his sake, seriously, Kenny, I totally forgot about that till now, with all the other stuff going on.
I forgotten that I saved Doug on my episode 1 playthorugh, he seemed quite nice, shame he dies, I chose to keep Lily after the incident, kinda seemed like a very heat in the moment type thing, then she steals the RV, oh well...
I don't mind Chuck, he seems like a pretty forward person so far.
Clementine is only getting cuter, teaching her how to shoot, cutting her hair. I thought the response I said for her saying she was going to drop a hammer on my head was going to be in a fun sense, but appeared negative.
Poor Kenny, losing his wife and son within a minute. I'm not 100% sure Kat took her own life, but I'm 99% sure she did, just holding Duck for hours and hours, having to watch him suffer slowly and painfully and have him die before she does and try continue on with life in this zombie-filled world would be extremely tough.
I'm slightly concerned about the 2 new people, whats with the lady, she gets angry at me for taking Clem, teaching her to shoot and stuff but is also happy I did it? One or the other woman! The guy seems nice enough so far, bit odd feel to him though.
Damn cliffhangers too, stupid walkie-talkie.
Bring on Episode 4!!
I apologize for the big spoiler wall I've posted, I'm the only person I know who is playing this and have no-one to discuss it with.
Eurogamer's local Canadian member. Eh?
@PrivateFloyd I didn't see that coming either! I really was stunned. As for Danny... I chose to be the better person and leave him lying in a bear trap to be eaten by walkers. Er. It seemed like the right thing to do at the time! |
Poor Mark. At least he got to have some cheese and crackers before he died.
And Kenny now hates me so much. I better not try lying down near any heavy objects. :/
Episode 2 was good, but not sure if I liked it more than 1 or not.

It's taking a large amount of restraint from not looking at the spoiler tags on this thread! |
I've just completed Ep3 and from what I can tell (especially the stats at the end of the episode) I've chosen quite differently from everyone else!
C'mon Episode 4, hurry the f*ck up!
|Absolutely fucking brilliant|
In episode 1, was I the only person not to attempt to save the kid at the farm? I decided that the other guy would be more use to the group, and he had helped save me after all...|
@BryanAKADJ - I'm not sure about Chuck. I expect him to try kidnap Clem or something else bad. He seems too nice.... In fact, I'm suspicious of anyone who isn't a bit of an arse at first. The guy you meet at the end of episode 3 is far too happy for the situation so I assume he is crazy or unstable...
|@andytheadequate Nope, I did that in Episode 1, too. And in Episode 2 Kenny won't shut up about it despite the fact that he didn't criticise me for it at all in Episode 1. Mind you, his memory must be on the blink because he now claims that I sided with Larry against Duck, which I definitely didn't. If I remember rightly the results for that vote were pretty evenly split, according to the voting information at the end. I also saved Doug not Carley, which was apparently far less common.|
PSN ID: finn1
I saved Carley simply because she had the gun. Thought I might be able to help Doug out.|
I try and side with Kenny (when he isn't doing something mental), but he seems to hate me...
I saved Carly as she was clearly the viable love interest and a realistic option for the repopulation of earth.|
FUCK YOU LILLY YOU UNSTABLE CUNT!!!
andytheadequate wrote:Yep, that was my reasoning too.
As for Kenny, his response to Lee saving the day in Episode 2 , while all he did was get shot, was to claim that Lee did nothing to save his family and he, Kenny was the one to save them. And now he hates Lee more because I picked to set a good example to the kids and not steal. Can't win with him... 'urban'....

Fucking buggiest sack of shit out there - obviously these tight deadlines have meant that the game is really not being tested properly before release.|
I've only been able to play my saved game on the console on which the game was originally purchased - this was annoying enough (mainly because I'd wanted to sell that machine on).
Now the game is (once again) refusing to recognise my 'Saved Game' from the previous two episodes.
I've now uninstalled the whole thing - perhaps I'll have another go, from the start, in the near future - hopefully when the thing is a little more stable.
caligari wrote:One issue causing you problems = buggiest sack of shit out there.
But I haven't experienced a single issue in all three episodes, so I'm going to say it ISN'T the buggiest sack of shit out there.
One of us is closer to being right than the other one.
caligari wrote:Agreed, there's a reason Sony EU failed it. I only came across a small slightly hilarious bug myself but I've been hearing about game breakers from friends.
All this and the engine is still shoddy as hell. Hopefully they'll get around to fixing it for their next game. They've got to have made a mint off this series.
Saying that I'm still loving it to pieces, it's been a while since I've been drawn in by a game like this. Hell I can't think of a film or tv series that's had me so emotionally involved.

I've not had a single problem with the PC version, aside from the odd graphics/sound glitch.|
I have seen a few people with the Xbox version who have lost save games and stuff though, which much be annoying tbf.
On the story, how have people managed to piss Kenny off so much? Me and him are pretty tight on mine. He's a complete dick at times, but I think it's probably better to have him onside and watching my back a bit.
Edited by heavy_salad at 18:55:04 04-09-2012
|@heavy_salad I'm playing on PS3 so I've only done the first two episodes, but the main thing I did to annoy Kenny was trying to save Sean instead of his son in Episode 1. Fair enough. However as of Episode 2 he is now claiming that I sided with Larry in wanting to harm his kid (I didn't and Larry was furious with me at the time over it), and is angry because I didn't kill Larry and because I didn't nick anything from the car. I just finished Episode 2 by saying, 'yep, it was murder' so I think our relationship will probably be even worse now.|

Shikasama wrote:'One issue' being the fact that I've had my saves locked to one console, and my saved game failing to be 'recognised' by the game...twice.
The game is great when it's working (even if it is far too easy, and a little predictable), but I stand by the fact that it's still a buggy sack of shit.
edit: Google 'Walking Dead' and 'Saved Game' and you'll see who is closer to 'being right', too.

|Not had a problem with with my saved game but there are a tonne of graphical glitches in the game, and the engine stutters a bit. Not exactly game breaking but can ruin the immersion a tad|
It's a "buggy sack of shit" if you confuse the DRM by trying to play it on a different console to the one you DLd it on or created your save on. |
For the 98% of users that just bought it / played it, it's fine bar a few graphical glitches here and there.
One of my top games this year, and up there with my best games this gen.
Just started reading the comic compendium volume 1.|
It is awesome.
richardiox wrote:The fact that it's locked to a single console is fair enough (although it would have been nice to have some kind of warning - I only found out after trawling through lots of forums full of users with the same problem).
The fact that it has fucked up my saves twice within the first two episodes isn't really acceptable - not for (what will eventually be) over 2000 points.
I'd love to see the stats behind this '98% of users' having no major problems - the Internet seems to say otherwise.
Even when it was 'working' the audio was constantly stuttering - a real shame, because some of the dialogue/acting is actually great.
I'm not saying that it's a bad game. When it works, it's good (albeit very simple) fun.
