I'm playing through mainly guns a-blazzin' with some magic thrown in. I doubt I will playthrough a second time, as apart from some extra cheveos' you are getting the same story, which is no bad thing but once I have played and seen it, I know I will lose interested, even with it being as good as it is.
As long as I enjoy it once is enough. Just starting Chapter 3 as it were (the twins)and love the game.
...don't forget I need to get it on the Oct swapsies thread

Whilst I found the little yellow marker quite useful when I played it at the expo, since it meant I never lost track of the level goal and could complete the demo within a reasonable time, for me that kind of hand holding is just anathema in this kind of game. -

45 mins left, need to get loads of coke on way home as body telling me to sleep but I have plans for a lengthy dishonored session.

Ha yeah, I feel cocaine wouldn't go too well with my profession. Just need that sugar caffeine hit to boot up after a long day. Once I get into a game i don't notice fatigue anymore.

Registered 8 years agoThis is fucking excellent. Aside from the production values - art direction is gorgeous - they've got the basics down. Movement is spot on, you can mantle (suck it, Adam Jensen) and I love that you can drag people while choking them and immediately pick up their body and dump it. So slick.
Feels like a proper PC game too. Tons of options and no Xbox control prompts left in. It's like being back in the 90s.

Twenty mins in, love everything I've seen about it so far but the textures are terrible. Really low res on xbox.

Also I've gone straight for hard.

Registered 4 years agoHow the hell people think the game only lasts 4 hours I don't know. I've probably spent more than that just on the tutorial and first mission. Now with 80% more Cthulhu!

Registered 11 years agoThis is a ridiculous question but I have no idea if my PC can play modern games. I just looked up the specs and it's an Intel E8400 3ghz, 4gb ram and a Radeon HD 4800. I'm guessing that's pretty shit and it needs a few upgrades (maybe just a total start from scratch) in order to play this! -

Well I think the 4 hours thing was a speed run anyway but yeah it's annoying when it becomes this out of control rumour and people are like 4 hours? I'm not buying that! Their loss.

I'd say if you just stick to the main quests it'll last around 8 hours, which is a reasonable length. Certainly not the way to play the game by any means though.
Me, I've clocked 12 hours so far but I have absolutely no idea how far I am from the end. Hard to tell.

I hope this is good - I have just traded in Borderlands 2. I figure I will enjoy this for a leisurely couple of weeks and then trade in against Halo 4.
Borderlands 2 is really good. But there was just a bit too much tracking between locations you've already played and faffing about in menus... Really good game though... -

Registered 5 years ago@StixxUK It's not the most demanding game in the world - try out some demos of some Unreal Engine 3 games to see how they perform if you're not sure, but I'd be surprised if you couldn't run it. -
2 hours in completed first level/tutorial!
I actually feel like I'm in another world, it is so beautifully realised. When you meet Samuel, the visuals!!!
It is Bioshock/thief/Deus ex/half life 2 in one. -

Registered 5 years agoI take it's a radeon 4800 series card, not actually a 4800 - not sure if there is such a thing. If there is then ouch.
The requirements list on Steam looks like it's borked, has the same spec for minimum and recommended.
Re: game length - there is a thread on the Steam hub for Dishonored complaining that the game only lasted 14 hours. Not sure if they're trolling, but there's the usual furious argumnet going on. -
