I will never understand the long = better argument.

Edge 9 I hear, we shall see.
Long def isn't better, loved limbo, braid, deadlight and if it is 8 hours that would be fine. Halo reach, max payne 3 etc all around 8 and perfect because they keep high standards and don't compromise quality with filler.
In this case it is not the type of game u rush. So I'm expecting just shy of twenty. Roll on Friday. -

Registered 6 years agoYeah long is only better if it can sustain the length, if it starts to drag or has filler content then it would be better shorter, but if it's brilliant from start to finish then all the better if it lasts a long time. -

Registered 7 years agoThere is no way this game is 4hrs. The amount of missions shown already would easily take more than 2hrs play and I can't see them having shown more than 50% of the game. -

Registered 2 years ago@monkehhh Yeah, me too, I spent 20 minutes in the sewer in rage just admiring what a good job they had done of it. Most people would have just dashed through it. -
@jabberwoky ha I did the same but when you first walked outside at the start, just looking around. I also read all of deadlights diary before starting in the menu. Sometimes I rush games which is never a good thing, I will try to pace dishonoured out although I am so limited for time these days.

@MatMan562 thanks, I have a back up. If doesn't come Friday I will buy it from supermarket then when online copy arrives I will return it to the supermarket.

Devs said weeks ago it'll take most players 8-12 hours and double that to get everything.
Early reports seem very good although the 5hr campaign length is a bit of a worry.XBL: rolemodel86 PSN: Syrette86

Better yet, wait for the sequel. It will surely have multiplayer so you can get your "value".

Registered 6 years agoI barely play any multi-player and Journey is quite possibly my game of the generation thus far, yet I still consider longer to be better as long as quality isn't compromised to achieve that length.
Genre is a big factor, a conventional strategy game or RPG that was over in a few hours would be disappointing no matter how good those few hours were because games like that are almost necessarily long. Dishonored from what I've seen of it also falls into a genre that all but demands length (and can certainly attain length without sacrificing quality). As such a short play time would be disappointing. But i'll be buying it day 1 regardless. -

It's what I'll be doing. I've saved literally hundreds and hundreds of pounds and had the same amount of enjoyment out of most games as those who've spent good money on them.XBL: rolemodel86 PSN: Syrette86

Well whilst they have released maybe a dozen videos there are all taken from the same level. So I don't feel I have spoilt anything. Will check review scores but not the text.
About renting. I don't like rushing and am v busy so renting isn't a realistic option for me. Plus I nearly always then trade in. For example witcher 2 cost me 6 quid as did sleeping dogs, both I owned for a month. -

Er, you've never heard of the likes of Lovefilm/Boomerang then?
Take as long as you want and pay as little as £3 per title (£6 a month minimum). I know of people who've had Lovefilm discs for years.XBL: rolemodel86 PSN: Syrette86

True but I like to get a title when I want it and no wait. The other thing is I like to buy games to support developers, gay I know. I keep some to.

@heavy_salad I guess they might give them out a little early, but have to say they won't just in case - or they might not and you're screwed
