OK, i think i have just reached my level wall. On Chaos Shrine No. 3 MV. 84 Fugato (allegiance's Solitude) 1st Movement - Vana'diel March 2nd Movement Jenova played 19 times cleared 1 time

on those 19 times used 6 x hi potions 6 x potions 1 x pheonix pidlem (or summit) and a magic lamp. I cleared it with a potion.

I found it much easier playing usng the stylus you received whist on a table

@darkmorgado yeah the only way you can reach it though is by playing without any abilities. I dont think it makes a difference to your score if you use your abilities so S is the same as a high score in my eyes

I think i read there is an SSS but that must be hitting every note perfectly as i reached an SS with all but 1 on perfect

It does - if you don't use abilities you won't get the 2m Stoic bonus at the end, so in theory an SS score will always be higher than an S.

I've noticed there's a Critial Charter Bonus of 50 Rhythmia as well the first time you max out your critical progress on a song. It's a one-off for each song, but your critical meter for that song then gets a permanent gold crown on it. So that's another thing to aim for.

If there really is an SSS rank then I'm going to have to go for that. I was wondering if there was a medal or something, similar to Perfect Chain for hitting every note.

If that's true, then I guess you haven't properly "beaten" the game until you've managed to SSS every song on Ultimate... which I think would require the reflexes of a demon.

sorry, i didnt put that very well.

The abilities i am using don't make it any easier to get an S rank so i dont see the need to redo them without them (saying that i still mean to do it lol)

How is everyone finding the later difficulty levels?

I've yet to clear a challenge song on Ultimate, though I strongly suspect most of the Dark Notes I've completed were Ultimate.

Yep, it's great! Ignore the EG review, it was factually wrong on several counts and came across to me as just an excuse for the writer to go off on a rant about how he thinks the series is total shit now.

    Much better is this review.

    For starters it's accurate.

Also, for anyone who hasn't taken the plunge and bought it yet, Shopto are selling it for a very attractive price of £21.85.

Probably a bit too late now for Murbs but I have a sealed copy available in the July swapsies thread or I'll do it for a £20 Amazon voucher (postage included) if anyone wants it.

I beat the FFXIII FMS one on the demo, not tried any on this yet!

I too hope all DLC comes out over here. I downloaded all available stuff for this one before starting the game :)

I also hope there's even more DLC than is already available in the JAP store; in an ideal world, I'd love to have every FF track ever written represented :-)

Yeah, I find the timing on some of the EMS stages to be pretty hard. It has a lot to do with the multi-directional path. If it took place on a linear right-left path like FMS, I doubt I would have the same problems.

I'm also convinced that the game is failing to register some of the directional sweep notes. I know I've performed the gesture correctly, but the game still registers a "bad" or a "miss".

SSS ranking has been confirmed to exist for getting a critical on every note.

Good luck getting that on Ultimate Score songs...

If I could have chosen three songs for FFVII, they've got them. The timing of the chocobo on the FMS song is brilliant and a superb gaming moment.

Glad I'm not the only one who was thinking that! ;)

Still enjoying it, anyway. Did FFVII yesterday and got so distracted by the video on EMS that I realised I'd forgotten to keep tapping and swiping. Oops. :p

I've been thinking the exact same thing. Perfectly timed.

I also find the EMS stages a bit more difficult. It's the random speed changes that occasionally catch me out.

    Same here.

If you're praising the Chobo stage, wait till you get the FFV mambo arrangement - the note pattern follows a pretty difficult-to-hear part of the backing track instead of the main tune!
