Registered 11 years agoNokia 5146 or "changing faces" had that phone for years, indestructible. It even went on a year long pilgrimage around my mates and a taxi driver before finding it way back to me. Came back with a set of rainbow buttons and someone had changed the back lights to blue, still had my awesome network background image though. A pair of alien eyes. I had an editor to make my own ones. My 6210 comes a close second though, still have it -

I used to love my 7110. Was an ace phone. Man I remember the first time I got my musically-minded mate to program me a ringtone. I think it was the opening scale from Music is my Radar by Blur.
This: http://jamesoff.net/site/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/dsc_4161.jpg
ugly as sin but it was a solid phone that did everything i wanted it to had clear reception and an amazing battery.
Feel the 7110 love! I remember playing 2 player snake on it via iR...
One day Nokia will bring out the 7110 smartphone and actually have a decent OS on it

Registered 3 years agoFor me it was the Nokia 6233. Ive an Xperia Arc at the moment but the 6233 in my opinion is a superior phone ie. never once broke down once, restarted or froze... -

Registered 8 years ago+1 for WP7 as the best OS, but the handset I'm running it on (LG Optimus 7) is a pile of poo.
So the favourite phone I've had would still be my iPhone 3GS.Inventor of the hovercraft

Registered 9 years agoMotorola StarTac (? sp) think that's what it was called - small flip phone, battery lasted days, (I bought the extended battery) brilliant call quality even in the busiest/noisiest pubs you could hear the other person on the end of the phone. It did have that Star Trek feel to it, it just felt like the 21st century in your hand -Loved it!

Registered 9 years agoBoring but I'm going with the iPhone 3GS. First iPhone I've got and even though I've switched to the S2 (just got a bit bored and fancied a change), I'll be back for the iPhone 5.
Strangly enough, I think it's predictive text, auto-correct and display keyboardwere brilliant. It's taken time with the S2 to realise that. -

Registered 7 years agoMy best is obviously my latest, HTC Desire. For looks though I really liked the Motorola V3 Razor, just a shame that the OS was dog-turd.
Probably my worst was my first phone (woah, couldn't have predicted that!), a Philips Savvy. A brick with a calculator screen and an antenna. Please don't use the delete button, think of the children.

Registered 5 years agoThe 3210 for me.
It had GAMES!!!! Battery lasted for weeks at a time and it was indestructable.
Phones these days often don't even last a full day requiring a charger both at home and at work, and are fargile as fuck. One point I also remember is that even with a broken screen I used my 3210 for ages, I just had to remember who was on what speed dial and occasionally have to manually type in numbers. Whereas modern phones, if the screen goes you are fucked. -

Nokia E71 for me. Flexible, multitasking, good form-factor, weeks rather than days between battery charges... nigh on perfect. Still regret ever getting rid of it
I think you're undervaluing the form factor, too. Gorgeous phone.
E71
The HTC Desire that I now have is up there as well, but I think my first 'favourite' phones would have been the SE P800 and then the P900, which had the edge on extra RAM and better build quality. -

Registered 2 years agoHaving a clear out at work and discovered x2 Nokia 6310i. These babies are boxed and never ever used. Yep, as old as the hills (2002) but widely considered to be the best phone Nokia have ever made. Put a sim in them and seriously considering using one as my day to day phone now as all I want is a phone to text and call on...the 14 day battery life is a bonus. I have never seen these phones about in as good condition....all this he saw, for one moment breathless and intense, vivid on the morning sky; and still, as he looked, he lived; and still, as he lived, he wondered.

Well, thats the thing with modern mobiles...I have an S2 and if I even think about leaving GPRS and WiFi on then its a daily charge. Looking at how far handsets has come it is all well and good shoehorning more and more features and functionality on them but the trade off in battery life is a serious compromise.Poohsticks wrote:

Registered 9 years ago1. iPhone4s - It literally never leaves my side
2. Sharp 903v - The first phone ever to do 3.2mp camera images. It looked amazing, took brilliant shots. I kept it for 3 years because after my 18month contract there were no better spec phones available in the UK
3. Sharp GX30 - A great phone for the time. Brilliant games and so nice to use. Had a stylish click sound when it shut too. -
